Do I need any previous art experience to join?

Not at all! Our Auckland showroom experience is designed for everyone from absolute beginners to seasoned creatives. Our pro artists will guide you through the basics of can control, nozzle types, and layering techniques. By the time you're finished, you'll be amazed at the masterpiece you've created. It's all about having a go and enjoying the creative process in a relaxed environment.

Is the spray paint safe and what gear do you provide?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep your clothes clean. Our Auckland studio is well-ventilated to ensure a comfortable breathing environment. Our artists also give a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can, ensuring everyone knows how to handle the equipment properly and responsibly.

How long does a typical session last?

A standard showroom session in Auckland usually lasts between 2 to 2.5 hours. This gives us plenty of time for a demonstration, some practice on the walls, and then the final creation of your own artwork or canvas. If you have a specific timeframe for a retail event or brand activation, we can certainly tailor the duration to fit your schedule.

What should I wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you wouldn't mind getting a tiny speck of paint on, just in case. While we provide full protective gear including suits and gloves, it's best to leave your Sunday best at home. Auckland weather can be unpredictable, but since our showroom experiences are indoors, you'll stay dry and focused on your art regardless of the rain!

Can I book a private session for my group or brand?

Absolutely! Our showroom is the perfect place for private bookings, whether it's a birthday, a stag do, or a team-building event. We can accommodate various group sizes and can even customise the theme of the workshop to suit your occasion. We also offer mobile setups if you want us to bring the showroom vibe to your specific retail location in Auckland.

How do I book and do I need to pay upfront?

Booking is easy and stress-free. You can use our online cost calculator for an instant estimate or send us a request for a custom quote. The best part? We don't require upfront payment. You can secure your date and pay after the workshop is completed. This ensures you are 100% satisfied with the experience we've delivered in the 09.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Auckland's street art scene is a boiling pot of Pacific influence, Māori heritage, and modern urban flair. From the towering murals in the Karangahape Road district to the hidden gems in Ponsonby and Grey Lynn, the 09 is a canvas for world-class talent. Our showroom experience pays homage to this local culture, often collaborating with Auckland-based artists who bring a unique Kiwi perspective to every session. ✨

Fun fact: Did you know that Auckland is home to some of the largest legal street art festivals in the Southern Hemisphere? The city treats its walls as a rotating public gallery, and our showroom is your gateway to becoming part of that prestigious lineage. 🎨

Whether you're inspired by the sparkling Waitematā Harbour or the rugged vibes of the west coast beaches, we'll help you translate that Auckland spirit into bold, spray-painted strokes.
