Step by step

  1. Introduction & culture: We start with a high-energy intro into the history of street art and how it evolved from the streets of New York to the laneways of Auckland.
  2. Safety first: Every student gets kitted out with professional masks, gloves, and overalls. Safety is non-negotiable, and we show everyone the right way to handle the cans.
  3. Mastering the can: Before hitting the big wall, students practice basic 'can control'—learning how to make thin lines, fat drips, and smooth gradients.
  4. Sketching the vision: Students work together or individually to sketch their concepts, focusing on 'tags', 'throw-ups', and letter structure.
  5. Outline & fill: The real fun begins! Students start applying their base colours and filling in their designs under the guidance of our pro artists.
  6. Cutting & detailing: We teach the 'secret' pro techniques, like using highlights and 3D shadows to make the artwork pop off the surface.
  7. The final mural: The students step back to see their collective work—a massive, vibrant street art masterpiece that represents their group identity.
