How long does a live painting session usually take?

Our live painting performances in Hobart typically last between 2 and 5 hours, depending on the scale of the artwork and your event timeline. We can work in short, high-energy bursts for product launches or provide a steady, evolving creative presence throughout a full-day festival. We’ll coordinate with your run-sheet to ensure the 'big reveal' happens exactly when you want it to for maximum impact.

Is it safe to have live spray painting indoors in Hobart?

Safety is our top priority! We use low-odour, professional-grade spray paints and acrylic markers that are suitable for well-ventilated indoor spaces. For indoor gigs, we set up drop sheets and protective screening to ensure no overspray hits your venue’s floors or furniture. We’ve worked in various Hobart galleries and function spaces, so we know exactly how to keep the environment clean and safe while bringing the heat thermally!

Can our guests participate in the painting process?

Absolutely! One of the coolest ways to engage your guests is by letting them add a few strokes or 'tags' under the artist's guidance. This works brilliantly for brand activations or community festivals where you want people to feel a sense of ownership over the piece. Just let us know beforehand so we can bring extra protective gear and ensure the artist manages the flow safely.

What kind of surfaces can you paint on?

We’re super flexible! We can paint on large-scale canvases, custom timber panels, temporary walls, or even vehicles and shipping containers. If you’re looking for something permanent, we can paint directly onto a wall at your Hobart office or venue. If you need something portable that you can keep or auction off after the event, a high-quality stretched canvas is usually the best way to go.

Can the artist incorporate our company logo or a specific theme?

While we love the raw energy of graffiti, our Hobart artists are incredibly versatile. We can incorporate specific logos, brand colours, or even photographic realism into the mural. Before the event, we’ll chat about your vision and provide a rough sketch or mood board. This ensures the final masterpiece aligns perfectly with your brand identity or event theme while still maintaining that authentic street-art edge.

What happens if it rains during an outdoor event in Hobart?

Aussie weather can be a bit 'four seasons in one day,' especially in Tassie! If your event is outdoors, we recommend having a marquee or a backup indoor space available. Our artists can work through light drizzle if there's cover, but heavy rain and wind can affect the paint application. We’ll always check the Hobart forecast with you 48 hours before the event to make sure we have a solid Plan B.

How much does a live painting performance cost?

Pricing in Hobart generally ranges from A$40 to A$90 per person if we're doing a hybrid workshop-performance, or a flat day rate for pure live painting. The final cost depends on the artist's profile, the size of the surface, material requirements, and the duration of the event. We don't require upfront payments—you pay after the masterpiece is finished! Contact us for a custom quote tailored to your specific Tassie event.

Local culture

Hobart might be known for its historic sandstone and quiet charm, but underneath the surface lies a booming urban art scene that rivals the big mainland cities. From the hidden gems in the laneways of North Hobart to the massive murals gracing the walls near the docks, the "Apple Isle" has a deep appreciation for creative expression. Our Hobart artists are locals who understand the unique light and landscape of Tasmania, often weaving local motifs into their live performances. 🔥

Fun Hobart Fact: Did you know that Hobart is home to some of the most southern professional street art installations in the world? The city’s creative community is tight-knit and incredibly supportive, making it the perfect backdrop for a live painting event that feels authentic and connected to the local culture. 🏆
