The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your pupils? It’s more than just spraying paint; it’s a boost of confidence and a masterclass in teamwork! 🚀

  • Unleash hidden talent: Many children who struggle with traditional fine arts find their voice through the bold, expressive nature of graffiti.
  • Physical movement: Street art is active! It gets the kids moving their whole bodies, improving coordination and motor skills.
  • Team building: Working on a large-scale mural teaches children how to collaborate, share space, and contribute to a collective goal. 🤝
  • No-risk booking: With no upfront payment required and backup artists always on standby, your school event is in safe hands.
  • Creative empowerment: Watching a blank space transform into a masterpiece gives students a massive sense of achievement. 🏆
  • Curriculum links: We can link the art to history, social studies, or environmental topics, making it a truly educational experience.

Step by step

  1. Introduction & safety: Our artist meets the group and explains the rules of the road—safety first! We get everyone suited up in their protective gear.
  2. The history of street art: A quick, engaging chat about how graffiti evolved from simple tags to the incredible murals we see today.
  3. Can control basics: Learners get their first spray can and learn how to control the pressure, nozzle distance, and angle to make different lines.
  4. Sketching the design: The kids grab markers to sketch out their ideas on paper or directly onto the boards before the paint starts flying.
  5. Filling and fading: This is where the magic happens! We teach the students how to fill in large areas and create cool colour gradients (fades).
  6. Outline and highlights: To make the art 'pop', we show the kids how to add sharp outlines and white highlights for a 3D effect.
  7. The finishing touches: Our pro artists help the students add those final details that turn a good sketch into a street art masterpiece.
  8. Group photo & cleanup: We celebrate the creativity with a big squad photo in front of the art, then we handle all the recycling and packing up.

Local culture

Street art in Jekabpils

Jēkabpils is a city with a rich soul, straddling both banks of the Daugava River. While we are famous for our historic architecture and the beautiful Krustpils Castle, there is a growing appreciation for contemporary expression in our corner of Latvia. Bringing a graffiti workshop to a Jēkabpils primary school is about bridging that gap between history and the modern day. We love seeing kids draw inspiration from the local landscape or the stories of the Sēlija region and turning them into neon-bright street art.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Jēkabpils is one of the few places in Latvia where you can truly experience the culture of both Latgale and Selonia? This unique mix of traditions makes for some seriously creative young minds! 🎨
