How long does a typical primary school workshop last?

Most primary school sessions in Namur last between 1.5 and 2 hours. This is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining high energy and focus among younger children. We can adjust the timing to fit your school's specific timetable, ensuring a smooth transition between lessons and the workshop without any rush or stress for the staff.

Is the spray paint safe for young children?

Absolutely! We take safety very seriously. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, disposable gloves, and protective suits for every pupil. Our spray paints are water-based or low-solvent where possible, and we always conduct sessions in well-ventilated outdoor areas or large open spaces to ensure a healthy environment for your students and teachers.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Don't worry, we've got it covered! We have a solid backup plan for the Belgian weather. We can often move the workshop to a covered outdoor area or use large plastic sheeting to protect indoor gymnasiums if necessary. If the forecast looks truly terrible, we can also reschedule to a better day at no extra cost.

What is the minimum or maximum group size?

We usually recommend a minimum of 10-15 students, but we can handle very large groups too! For bigger classes or entire year groups, we bring in extra professional artists to maintain a safe student-to-teacher ratio. This ensures every child gets the personal attention and guidance they need to create something they are proud of.

Do the children need to have art skills already?

No prior experience is needed at all! Our Namur workshops are designed specifically for beginners. We start with the absolute basics—how to hold the can and control the pressure. Our artists are experts at encouraging children who might feel they aren't 'artistic,' helping every child find their own unique creative voice.

What should the students wear for the workshop?

While we provide protective overalls, we always suggest that students wear 'play clothes' or older school clothes that parents don't mind getting a bit of paint on. Graffiti is a hands-on, messy business, and while we do our best to keep everyone clean, a few stray splashes of paint are always a possibility!

Do we need to pay in advance?

No, you don't need to pay a penny upfront! We believe in the quality of our workshops, so you only pay after the event is completed and you are 100% satisfied. After the session, we will send an invoice to the school administration for payment via bank transfer. It’s completely risk-free for your school.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your school? It’s more than just painting; it’s about building confidence and teamwork. Here’s why Namur schools love working with us:

Boosts Creativity: Kids who might struggle with a paintbrush often find a "click" with a spray can. 🎨
Teamwork & Co-operation: Pupils work together on large-scale murals, learning the value of collaboration. 🤝
Professional Artists: Our mentors are real-world graffiti artists who are passionate about teaching. ✨
100% Safe: We provide all necessary safety gear and use child-friendly techniques. 💪
Stress-Free Booking: We have backup artists ready to go, so your event is never cancelled. 🏆
Memorable Results: Students take home their own artwork, or the school gets a stunning new mural. 🎉

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: We start with a fun intro about street art history and a full safety briefing on how to use the gear.
Sketching the Concept: Students grab paper and pencils to plan their designs, learning about 'tags' and 'throw-ups'.
Can Control Practice: Before the main event, kids practice making lines, dots, and fades on 'test' surfaces.
Outline Creation: Our artists help the children sketch their main design onto the large boards or canvas.
Filling in Colours: This is the fun part! Kids learn how to layer colours and create vibrant fills within their outlines.
Adding the Details: We teach techniques for adding highlights, shadows, and crisp 'power outlines' to make the art pop.
The Final Flourish: Students add their own unique signatures or 'tags' to their completed masterpieces.
Group Photo & Celebration: We gather the whole class for a photo with their artwork – a great memory for the school yearbook!
Clean Up: Our team handles all the tidy-up, leaving the school grounds exactly as we found them.

Local culture

Namur is quickly becoming a secret gem for street art in Wallonia. From the murals decorating the streets near the University of Namur to the hidden gems along the Sambre, the city provides the perfect backdrop for budding young artists. We take inspiration from Namur’s unique blend of medieval history and modern urban culture to show students how art can transform any space.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Namur hosts its very own street art festival? The city is part of the "Street Art Cities" network, making it a fantastic place to grow the next generation of creative talent!
