How long does a typical school workshop last?

For secondary schools in Namur, we recommend a duration of 2 to 3 hours. This allows enough time for a solid introduction to the history of street art, a thorough safety briefing, technique practice, and the final creation of a large-scale mural. If you have a tighter schedule, we can condense the experience into a 90-minute 'express' session while still ensuring every student completes a piece of art.

Do students need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our professional artists are experts at guiding students of all skill levels. We start with the absolute basics—how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create clean lines. Whether a student is a talented illustrator or someone who has never touched a paintbrush, they will be able to contribute meaningfully to the final project and feel a sense of accomplishment.

What safety measures do you have in place?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP2/FFP3 respiratory masks, protective gloves, and disposable overalls to keep uniforms clean. We only use professional-grade spray paint and ensure that the workshop takes place in a well-ventilated outdoor area or a specifically prepared indoor space. Our artists are fully trained in group management and safety protocols to ensure a risk-free environment.

Where in Namur does the workshop take place?

We are incredibly flexible! We can bring the workshop directly to your school grounds in Namur, using mobile wooden walls or plastic sheeting. Alternatively, we can arrange for the session to take place at a legal graffiti wall in the city, giving students a truly authentic street art experience. If it rains, we have indoor solutions available to ensure the creative fun doesn't stop.

Can we choose a specific theme for the mural?

Absolutely. We often work with teachers to incorporate specific themes like sustainability, local Namur history, or school values into the mural design. This makes the workshop not just a fun activity, but a valuable educational tool. Students can brainstorm their ideas together before they start painting, promoting teamwork and communication skills throughout the entire creative process.

What should students wear on the day?

While we provide overalls, we always recommend that students wear 'old' clothes and sturdy shoes. Even with protective gear, spray paint is permanent and can occasionally find its way onto sleeves or shoes. It's better to be safe and wear something that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of paint on while you're busy becoming the next Banksy!

How does the payment process work?

Unlike many other providers, we don't require any payment upfront. We believe in the quality of our workshops and want you to be 100% satisfied. You simply pay after the workshop is completed via invoice. This makes the administrative process much easier for schools and ensures a stress-free booking experience from start to finish.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your Namur school? It’s more than just spraying paint; it’s about confidence, collaboration, and community. Here’s why we are the go-to choice for secondary education:

Boosts Teen Engagement: Graffiti is a medium that teenagers actually find "cool," ensuring high participation and enthusiasm. 🎤
Skill Development: From fine motor skills to spatial awareness, students learn technical art techniques in a fun environment.
Teamwork in Action: Creating a collaborative mural requires communication, compromise, and collective pride. 🤝
Physical & Creative: It’s a great way to get students out of their seats and moving their bodies while they think outside the box.
Professional Mentors: Our artists aren't just teachers; they are active street performers who share real-world creative insights. 🏆
Zero Risk Booking: With backup artists always on call and no upfront payment, your school event is in safe hands.

Step by step

Intro & History: We start with a high-energy intro about graffiti culture and its evolution from New York streets to the walls of Namur.
Design Brainstorm: Students grab sketchbooks to plan their 'tag' or contribute ideas for a massive group mural.
Safety First: Everyone gets geared up with masks, gloves, and overalls while we explain the rules of the spray.
Nozzle Control: Artists demonstrate how different 'caps' create different lines, from thin outlines to fat fills.
Practice Session: Students head to the wall to practice basic shapes and get a feel for the pressure of the spray can.
Main Creation: The real work begins! Students collaborate to fill in the masterpiece, adding layers, shadows, and highlights.
The Outline: Our pros help with the final 'crisp' outlines to make the artwork pop and look truly professional.
Group Photo: We celebrate the hard work with a photoshoot in front of the finished masterpiece – a perfect memory!
Clean Up: We ensure the site is left spotless, leaving only the amazing art (if on a permanent wall) behind.
