Is the spray paint safe for primary school children?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We use high-quality, low-odour spray paint specifically chosen for school environments. Every child is provided with a full set of protective gear, including gloves and masks. Our professional artists have years of experience working with primary school groups in Leuven and are trained to supervise children closely, ensuring a mess-free and safe creative environment for everyone.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A typical primary school workshop in Leuven lasts between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This includes the introductory safety briefing, the sketching phase, and the actual painting. We can easily adapt the timing to fit into your school’s timetable or a specific project week. If you have a larger group, we can also run multiple sessions throughout the school day so everyone gets a turn.

Do the students need to have any prior drawing or art skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Most children have never touched a spray can before, and that’s perfectly fine. Our artists guide the students through simple techniques, from making basic dots and lines to filling in letters. By the end of the session, even the kids who claim they 'can’t draw' are amazed at the professional-looking street art they’ve created.

Where in Leuven do the workshops take place?

We are very flexible with locations. We can host the workshop directly on your school premises in Leuven, perhaps in the playground or a well-ventilated hall. We bring all the necessary protective floor coverings to ensure no paint gets where it shouldn't. If you’d prefer an off-site experience, we can also suggest local legal graffiti walls where the kids can experience the 'authentic' street art vibe.

What materials do we need to provide as a school?

We bring everything! This includes all the spray paint colours, high-quality canvases or boards, masks, gloves, and protective suits. We also provide sketching materials and examples for inspiration. The school only needs to provide the space and enthusiastic students. After the workshop, we handle the cleanup, leaving your school grounds exactly as we found them—just with some extra happy kids!

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

While we love painting outside for the fresh air and natural light, we always have a plan B. If the weather in Leuven doesn't cooperate, we can move the workshop indoors to a gym or large hall. We use special indoor-friendly techniques and heavy-duty floor protection to keep the building clean. Alternatively, we can reschedule the session to a sunnier day based on our backup artist availability.

What is the maximum group size for a school session?

While we don't have a strict minimum, our workshops are most cost-effective for groups of 10 or more. For larger primary schools, we can accommodate hundreds of students by rotating groups throughout the day. We maintain a high artist-to-student ratio (usually 1 artist per 15-20 kids) to ensure every child gets individual attention and remains safe while using the spray cans.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your primary school in Leuven? It’s more than just painting; it's about giving kids a voice in a medium they usually only see from afar. Here’s why it’s a total win for your students:

Boosts confidence: Seeing a giant, colourful masterpiece emerge from a simple sketch gives kids a massive sense of achievement. 💪
Team building like no other: Our collaborative murals encourage students to work together, communicate, and respect each other's "space" on the wall.
Fine motor skill development: Controlling a spray can requires focus and coordination that’s different from any other art tool. 🎯
Inclusion for everyone: Graffiti doesn't have "mistakes"—it's an accessible art form where every child can find their own style, regardless of their usual artistic ability.
Expert local artists: Our team is passionate about teaching and knows exactly how to keep primary schoolers engaged and excited. ✨
Zero stress for teachers: We handle the setup, the teaching, the gear, and the cleanup. You just get to enjoy the happy faces!

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: Our artist kicks things off with a brief history of street art and shows some cool examples to get the kids thinking.
Safety first: Every student gets kitted out in protective gear and learns the 'golden rules' of using spray cans safely.
The tag creator: Before touching a can, the kids practice their signature or "tag" on paper to understand letter structure.
Can control: Students learn the basics on a practice wall—how to hold the can, how much pressure to use, and how to make different lines.
Sketching the masterpiece: On their final canvas or designated wall, children sketch out their main design under professional guidance.
Adding colour: The fun part! Kids choose their favourite shades and start filling in their designs with vibrant spray paint.
Outlining & shadowing: Our artists help the students add "3D" effects and sharp outlines to make their artwork pop.
The finishing touches: Students add final details, highlights, or "splatter" effects to personalise their work.
Gallery walk: We finish with a celebratory look at everyone's creations, perfect for school photos and proud smiles!

Local culture

Leuven is a city that breathes history, but it also has a pulse of modern creativity that makes it the perfect backdrop for a graffiti workshop. While the iconic University Library and Gothic Town Hall are world-famous, the local street art scene is equally inspiring. From the legal graffiti zones to the stunning murals tucked away in the city's alleyways, Leuven celebrates urban art as a form of contemporary expression.

Fun Fact: Did you know Leuven has its own "Street Art Cities" map? The city has actively embraced murals to brighten up public spaces, making it a fantastic educational "open-air museum" for students to explore after their workshop! 🎨

By bringing our graffiti experience to your primary school, we connect students to this local cultural movement, helping them see the streets of Leuven through a more artistic lens. Whether we're inspired by the student vibes of the Oude Markt or the peaceful greenery of the Kruidtuin, we bring that unique Leuven energy to every spray can session.

Pricing

Our graffiti workshops are priced competitively to ensure schools can access high-quality creative experiences. Prices generally range from €25 to €55 per student.

The final cost depends on the number of participants, the duration of the session, and whether the kids are painting individual canvases to keep or working on a collaborative mural for the school. We don't require any upfront payment—you simply pay after the workshop is complete!
