Is the graffiti workshop safe for secondary school students?

Absolutely! We use high-quality spray paints that are safe for outdoor use, and we provide all students with protective gear, including masks and gloves. Our professional artists are trained to supervise secondary school students closely, ensuring everyone follows safety protocols while having a blast. We make sure the environment is well-ventilated and that the students understand how to handle the equipment responsibly before they even touch a can.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard secondary school workshop in Warri typically lasts between 2 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief history of street art, a safety demo, practice sessions on boards, and the final creation of a large-scale mural. We can also adjust the timing to fit into your school’s specific timetable or extracurricular schedule if needed. Just let us know your requirements!

Do we need to provide any materials for the workshop?

We bring everything! Graffitifun provides professional-grade spray cans in a vibrant range of colors, protective masks, gloves, and disposable ponchos to keep uniforms clean. We also provide the 'canvas'—whether that’s large wooden panels, mobile walls, or even a designated school wall if you've given us the thumbs up. You just need to bring your creative energy and students ready to learn!

Do the students need to have prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our artist-mentors guide the students through every step, from holding the can correctly to mastering advanced shading techniques. By the end of the session, even students who claim they 'can't draw' are usually amazed at the professional-looking art they’ve helped create. It’s all about boosting confidence and discovering new talents.

What is the cost of hosting a workshop at our school?

The cost for a graffiti workshop in Warri varies based on the number of students and the specific setup (like whether we are painting a permanent wall or mobile panels). Generally, prices range from ₦15,000 to ₦35,000 per person. We offer special packages for larger school groups to make it as affordable as possible. Can you host workshops outside of Warri?

We are very flexible! While we love coming to schools in the heart of Warri, we also serve surrounding areas. If you are looking for workshops in other major Nigerian hubs, we also facilitate sessions in Lagos, Kano, Ibadan, and Abuja. No matter where your school is located, we aim to bring the vibrant world of street art right to your doorstep.

How does this workshop help with student team building?

Graffiti is a powerful tool for teamwork. In our secondary school workshops, students must collaborate on a single large mural. This requires them to communicate, plan their designated sections, and help one another achieve a cohesive look. It’s a fantastic way to break down social barriers and build a sense of community and shared accomplishment among the students. Plus, it's way more fun than a standard lecture!

The experience

Why choose Graffitifun for your school in Warri? Because we bring the "wow" factor that traditional art classes sometimes miss! 🎨

Professional Mentorship: Students learn directly from active, high-level graffiti artists who live the culture. 🏆
Confidence Building: Seeing a giant mural come to life gives students a massive sense of pride and accomplishment. 💪
Zero Risk: With our "pay after the workshop" policy and backup artist guarantee, your event is always secure. ✨
Curriculum Friendly: We can tailor themes to cover social issues, school history, or specific art curriculum goals. 📚
Complete Safety: We provide top-tier protective gear and use techniques that keep the environment clean and safe. 🛡️

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: We start with a high-energy intro to street art culture and a vital safety briefing on how to use the gear.
Idea Hatching: Students work with our artists to brainstorm themes and sketches that represent their school spirit or a specific message.
The First Spray: We head to the practice area where everyone learns basic "can control"—dots, lines, and simple shapes.
Lettering Basics: Our pros teach the secrets of "throw-ups" and "pieces," showing how to turn simple letters into 3D masterpieces.
The Big Outline: The main mural takes shape as students start mapping out the collective design on the wall or panels.
Filling & Fading: This is where the magic happens! Students learn to blend colors and add vibrant gradients to their work.
Adding Details: We use "fat caps" and "skinny caps" to add sharp outlines, highlights, and those professional final touches.
Grand Reveal: The finished mural is signed by all the student artists—a perfect moment for photos and school pride!

Good to know

Our workshops are built to be hassle-free for school administrators. We provide all the professional equipment, including low-pressure spray cans that are easier for beginners to control. A typical session lasts 2 to 3 hours, but we can customize this to fit your school day. We usually work with groups of 15 to 30 students per artist to ensure everyone gets personal guidance, but we can accommodate entire grade levels with our backup artist team. Safety is our priority: we provide high-grade masks, gloves, and protective clothing to keep those school uniforms spotless! ✨

Local culture

Warri, the vibrant heart of the Delta, is a city known for its bold personality and "Warri no dey carry last" spirit. This local energy is the perfect backdrop for a graffiti workshop! Street art in Warri is about more than just paint; it’s about expressing the resilience and creativity of the people. From the busy markets to the creative hubs around Effurun, the city is a canvas waiting to happen. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know that the unique "Waffi" slang and culture have influenced artists across Nigeria? We encourage students to bring that local flavor into their designs, mixing traditional Delta pride with modern urban aesthetics. 🔥
