Is the workshop safe for participants with sensory sensitivities?

Absolutely! We take safety and comfort very seriously. We provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and specialised masks to ensure everyone breathes easy and stays clean. Our Düsseldorf locations are chosen for their accessibility, and we always conduct a safety briefing before any spray cans are even shaken. Your group's well-being is our number one priority while we get creative.

How long does a typical special needs graffiti session last?

Our workshops in Düsseldorf usually last between 1.5 to 3 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining engagement without causing fatigue. However, we are completely flexible; if your group needs more frequent breaks or a shorter, high-energy session, just let us know. We move at your pace to ensure everyone has a blast without feeling rushed.

Do we need any previous art experience to join?

You don't need a single ounce of prior experience! Our professional artists are experts at breaking down the techniques into simple, manageable steps. Whether you've never held a spray can or you're a budding Picasso, we'll guide you through the process. It’s all about the joy of expression and trying something new in a supportive environment.

Can support staff or carers participate in the workshop?

Of course! We encourage carers, parents, or support staff to join in. Whether you want to pick up a can and paint alongside the group or simply provide 1-to-1 support from the sidelines, you are more than welcome. We work as a team with your staff to ensure every participant feels confident and empowered throughout the workshop.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We provide everything you need to create a masterpiece. This includes a wide range of premium spray paint colours, protective gear (suits, gloves, masks), and the 'canvas' (which could be a wall or individual boards). We also bring along inspiration sheets and stencils. You just need to show up in comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of dust on!

Where in Düsseldorf do the workshops take place?

Düsseldorf has some fantastic spots for street art, and we use various accessible locations across the city. Depending on your needs, we can use legal graffiti walls or bring mobile walls to a venue of your choice. When you book, we’ll discuss the best location that fits your group’s mobility requirements and travel preferences to make things as easy as possible.

What happens if someone in the group feels overwhelmed?

We aim for 100% satisfaction and genuine smiles. If for any reason the workshop isn't meeting your expectations, talk to our lead artist immediately so we can adjust our approach. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and our ability to connect with every participant. Plus, with our 'pay after the workshop' policy, we are fully committed to delivering an amazing experience.

The experience

Why choose a Graffitifun workshop for your group in Düsseldorf? Outside of the pure joy of painting, our sessions offer unique benefits tailored for participants with special needs:

Sensory exploration: The feel of the can, the sound of the spray, and the visual impact of bright colours provide a rich sensory experience. 🌈
Motor skill development: Using spray cans helps enhance hand-eye coordination and fine motor control in an engaging, non-clinical way. 💪
Confidence boost: Seeing a large-scale finished product created by their own hands gives participants an immense sense of pride and achievement. 🏆
Total accessibility: We adapt our techniques and tools to suit all mobility levels, ensuring no one is left out of the fun.
Zero-risk booking: With backup artists always on call and no upfront payment, your event is guaranteed to go ahead without a hitch. 🛡️

Step by step

Initial chat: We start by discussing your group's specific needs, interests, and any accessibility requirements to tailor the Düsseldorf experience perfectly.
Design phase: Use our online Tag Creator to spark some ideas before the day, or let our artists help you sketch a concept on-site.
Safety first: We suit everyone up in protective gear and explain how to use the equipment safely and effectively.
First lines: Participants learn how to hold the can and create basic shapes, getting a feel for the pressure and flow of the paint.
Colour explosion: This is where the magic happens! We start filling in the designs with a vibrant palette of professional spray paints.
Adding the details: Our artists guide you through "cutting" lines and adding highlights to make the artwork really pop off the wall.
The big reveal: We take a moment to step back and admire the collective work. It’s a proud moment for every participant!
Photo op: We capture high-quality photos of the group with their masterpiece—perfect for sharing with family and friends.
Easy wrap-up: No stress about the cleanup or immediate payment. You leave with great memories, and we handle the rest.

Local culture

Düsseldorf isn't just about high fashion and the "Kö"; it has a beating heart of urban creativity. From the legendary murals on Kiefernstraße to the hidden gems in Flingern, the city is a playground for visual storytellers. Our workshops tap into this local spirit, giving participants a chance to contribute to the city's rich artistic tapestry.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Kiefernstraße in Düsseldorf is world-famous for having almost every single house front covered in professional street art? It's one of the most colourful streets in all of Germany! 🇩🇪

We bring that same energy to our special needs programmes, ensuring the local "Düsseldorfer" flair for innovation and community is felt in every spray. Whether we are working near the tranquil Rhine or in a bustling urban space, the local culture of inclusion and art appreciation makes this the perfect setting for your creative journey.
