Do I need to have prior graffiti experience to join?

Absolutely no prior experience with spray cans is required. Our Graffitifun instructors specialize in teaching beginners. We start with the absolute basics of posture, pressure control, and nozzle types, ensuring you feel confident before you ever have to demonstrate these techniques to your students. It's all about building your personal toolkit in a supportive, creative environment.

What materials are included in the teacher training?

We provide everything you need for the session. This includes various types of spray paint, specialized nozzles (caps), protective gloves, masks, and coveralls to keep your clothes clean. We also provide design templates and educational resources that you can take back to your school in Alytus to help you plan your own future lessons and workshops.

How long does the training session last?

The workshop typically lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This duration is perfectly balanced to cover the theoretical history of street art, hands-on technique practice, and a final collaborative piece. We find this timeframe provides enough depth for professional development without being overwhelming, making it easy to fit into a busy school term or training day.

Is the spray paint safe to use in an educational setting?

Safety is our number one priority. We use low-odour paints whenever possible and provide high-quality FFP2 or FFP3 masks to all participants. Our instructors are trained in site safety and will teach you how to set up a safe workshop environment for your students, including proper ventilation, distance protocols, and the correct handling of pressurized cans.

Can you host the training at our school in Alytus?

Yes, we can! While we have fantastic partner locations in Alytus, we are fully mobile. If your school has a suitable outdoor wall or a well-ventilated indoor space with permission, we can bring the entire training setup directly to your campus. This is often a great way for staff to see how the activity fits into their own specific environment.

Do I receive a certificate after the workshop?

Yes, upon completion, we provide a certificate of participation. This document outlines the techniques learned and the hours completed, which can be used to support your professional development portfolio. It serves as evidence of your commitment to expanding your pedagogical repertoire with contemporary, urban art forms that resonate deeply with younger generations.

What happens if we need to cancel or change our booking?

We offer total peace of mind with our booking policy. You don't need to pay anything upfront; payment is only settled after the workshop has been successfully completed. Furthermore, we maintain a network of backup artists to ensure that your training goes ahead as planned, even in the rare event of an artist falling ill.

The experience

Why should you choose Graffitifun for your professional development in Alytus? We move beyond theory to give you real-world skills that work in a classroom setting. Here is why our training is a game-changer for educators:

Relevant Engagement: Graffiti is one of the fastest-growing art forms; learning it helps you connect with 'hard-to-reach' students.
Expert Mentors: Learn from professional artists who have years of experience in both the street art scene and teaching.
Safety Expertise: We teach you exactly how to manage a classroom of students with spray cans safely and responsibly.
Full Equipment Kits: Gain access to professional materials and learn which brands are best for school budgets.
Curriculum Integration: We don't just teach art; we show you how to tie graffiti into history, social studies, and design.
Reliability: With our backup artist policy and no-upfront-payment rule, your training is guaranteed and risk-free.

Step by step

Intro to Urban Culture: We start with a briefing on the history of graffiti, moving from 'vandalism' to high-tier gallery art to help you frame the context for your students.
Equipment Essentials: Learn about different spray cans, pressures, and why 'skinny' or 'fat' caps make all the difference in line thickness.
Health and Safety Protocol: We walk you through the essential safety gear and site management needed to run a risk-free classroom session.
First Lines & Fills: Get hands-on with the can. You'll learn how to control your wrist movement to create clean lines and solid colour fills.
Advanced Lettering: Move beyond the basics to explore 'throw-ups' and 'pieces', focusing on how to teach students about structure and shadows.
Stencil Techniques: We show you how to integrate stencils into your curriculum, which is a great entry point for students who find freehand drawing intimidating.
Collaborative Mural: Use your new skills to create a group piece, simulating the dynamics of a classroom project.
Pedagogical Review: We wrap up by discussing how to grade graffiti work and how to align these lessons with standard art curriculum goals.

Our teacher training sessions are designed to be as flexible as possible to fit your schedule. Here is what you can expect:

Local culture

Alytus, the capital of Dzūkija, has a unique creative pulse that blends its lush green surroundings with a growing urban identity. Known for its bridges and the scenic Nemunas river loops, the city provides a perfect backdrop for exploring the intersection of nature and street art. We love the local vibe here—from the sculptures in the Jaunimo Parkas to the burgeoning creative spaces popping up in old industrial zones. Bringing a graffiti workshop for teachers to Alytus isn't just about art; it’s about connecting with the city's modern evolution. It’s an opportunity to turn the local urban landscape into a classroom, encouraging students to see their city as a canvas for positive, legal, and vibrant self-expression.

Our training sessions are competitively priced to suit school budgets and professional development funds. We believe in transparency and flexibility:

Price Range: €18 - €38 per person (depending on the number of participants and specific requirements).
No Upfront Cost: You only pay after the workshop has been delivered.
