Is the spray paint safe for children to use?

Safety is our top priority! We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective overalls for every child. Our spray paints are selected for their quality and we conduct all sessions in well-ventilated outdoor areas or dedicated spaces. Our professional Kiwi artists are experts at managing groups of kids, ensuring everyone follows the safety rules while having an absolute blast. Parents can relax knowing the kids are in safe, creative hands.

What is the recommended age for a graffiti party?

We suggest a minimum age of 6 to 7 years old. At this age, kids usually have the hand strength to press the spray nozzles and the focus to follow the artist's instructions. If you have younger siblings attending, let us know! We can often arrange alternative creative activities like 'marker tagging' or stencil work so no one feels left out of the artistic fun in Queenstown.

Do the kids need to have any artistic skills beforehand?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our artists start with the basics—how to hold the can, how to control the pressure, and how to create simple shapes. We guide the kids step-by-step through the process. By the end of the party, even the kids who claim they 'can’t draw' are usually shocked by the professional-looking masterpiece they've created. It's all about building confidence!

What happens if it rains on the day of the party?

We've got you covered! We have access to several undercover or indoor locations around Queenstown that are suitable for graffiti workshops. If the weather decides not to play ball, we can simply move the party to one of our backup spots. We also have a crew of backup artists ready to jump in, so your party is guaranteed to go ahead regardless of logistical hiccups.

How long does a typical graffiti workshop last?

Most of our Queenstown kids' parties run for about 1.5 to 2 hours. This is the 'sweet spot' where kids stay fully engaged and energised without getting tired. We pack a lot into this time: a demo, practice sessions, and the final creation of their own individual canvas or a large group mural. It’s a fast-paced, high-energy experience from start to finish!

What should we bring to the workshop?

You don't need to bring a thing! Graffitifun provides everything required for a legendary street art session. This includes all premium spray paint cans in a rainbow of colours, protective gear (masks, gloves, suits), and the canvases or boards the kids will paint on. The only thing we recommend is that the kids wear old shoes and comfortable clothes, just in case they manage to get a bit of 'extra' colour on themselves!

Can the kids take their artwork home after the session?

Absolutely! One of the best parts of our Queenstown workshops is that each child gets to create their own artwork on a high-quality canvas. Once the paint is dry (which happens quite fast), they can take their masterpiece home to hang on their bedroom wall. It’s the ultimate party favour—much cooler than a plastic bag of lollies! Every time they look at it, they'll remember the awesome time they had.

Zero stress for parents: We bring all the gear, handle the setup, and lead the entertainment. You just provide the cake! 🎂
Real street cred: The kids learn actual techniques from pros who live and breathe street art.
Take-home art: Forget boring party bags; every kid leaves with their own professional canvas. 🏆
Safe as houses: High-grade masks and suits mean the only thing getting colourful is the canvas.
The 'Wow' factor: You'll be the talk of the school gate for hosting the most unique party of the year.
No payment upfront: Book with confidence and pay only after the workshop is done.

Step by step

Choose your vibe: Pick a date and tell us whether you want an individual canvas session or a massive group mural for the birthday star.
Safety briefing: Our pro artists show the kids how to use the gear properly, focusing on mask fit and can control.
Mastering the lines: The kids start on practice boards to learn 'the flick of the wrist,' creating dots, lines, and flares.
Sketching the dream: We help the kids outline their tag or character using light colours to get the proportions just right.
Filling in the colour: This is where the magic happens! The kids choose their favourite palettes to fill in their designs.
The sharp outline: We teach them how to use high-pressure cans to create those crisp, professional-looking edges.
Final flares and shines: Add the 'highlights'—those little white dots and sparkles that make the graffiti pop off the canvas.
The grand reveal: A group photo with all the finished masterpieces before they are packed up for the trip home!

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Queenstown isn't just about bungy jumping and jet boating; it’s a hub for creative souls and bold expression. From the hidden gems in the industrial zones of Frankton to the vibrant murals tucked away in the CBD alleys, the street art scene here reflects the rugged beauty of the Remarkables. Our workshops tap into this local energy, giving kids a chance to contribute to the creative spirit of Central Otago. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know that some of Queenstown's most famous street art is inspired by the legendary Kea bird? We often see kids incorporating these cheeky mountain parrots into their graffiti tags! 🦜

Pricing

Our graffiti workshops are surprisingly affordable and offer way more value than your standard party venue. We believe in transparent pricing with no hidden surprises!

Standard Party Package: Starting from NZ$45 to NZ$95 per person.

*Note: Final pricing depends on the number of legends attending, the location, and whether you want custom canvases or a giant mural.
