The experience
Why choose our street art sessions for your afternoon kick-back? We’re not your average art class. Here is why Queenstown locals love our vibe:
- Top-tier mentors: Learn from real-deal graffiti artists who are passionate about sharing their craft. 🎨
- Boost confidence: There are no mistakes in street art—only "happy accidents" that build creative resilience. ✨
- Ultimate safety: We provide full-body suits and professional masks, so the only thing that gets painted is the canvas. 🛡️
- Something to keep: Every participant gets to take home their own custom-sprayed canvas to hang on the wall. 🏆
- Zero stress booking: No deposit needed, and we have backup artists ready to go so the fun never gets cancelled. ✌️
- Social vibes: A great way to meet other creative kids and teens from across the Whakatipu Basin. 🤝

Step by step
- Safety briefing and gear up: We start by getting everyone into their protective suits, masks, and gloves while explaining the golden rules of safe spraying.
- The art of the 'tag': Students learn the history of graffiti and how to design their own unique artist signature or 'tag' on paper first.
- Can control basics: Our pros demonstrate how to hold the can, swap nozzles (caps), and manage pressure to create different line widths.
- Sketching the masterpiece: Participants move to their canvases to lightly sketch out their main design using 'ghost lines'.
- Filling and fading: This is where the colour happens! We teach how to fill in large areas and create cool gradient fades between colours.
- The outline: Students learn the steady hand required to 'cut' their lines and make the piece pop with a sharp outline.
- Highlights and 3D effects: We add the finishing touches, like white highlights and drop shadows, to give the artwork depth and character.
- The big reveal: Everyone steps back to admire the collective gallery of work and snap some epic photos for the 'gram.

- Included: All premium spray paint, nozzles, canvases, and protective gear (suits, masks, gloves) are provided.
- Safety: We use age-appropriate equipment and high-quality respiratory protection. All instructors are vetted and experienced in youth workshops.
- Location: We use various creative spots around Queenstown, or we can even come to your school or community centre!

Local culture
Street art in Queenstown
Queenstown isn't just about bungy jumping and skiing; it’s a hub for vibrant, modern creativity. While the town is famous for its natural beauty, the local street art scene is growing, with hidden gems tucked away in laneways near the waterfront. Our workshops take inspiration from the alpine landscape and the "go big or go home" attitude of Central Otago. We love bringing that South Island grit and colour to our sessions!
