What can we expect during a live painting performance?

Expect a high-energy, visual spectacle! Our artist arrives early to set up and begins painting as your guests arrive. Over the course of the event, a blank canvas or wall transforms into a finished masterpiece. It’s interactive, so guests can ask questions and see the techniques used. By the end, you have a stunning piece of art and a crowd that’s been thoroughly entertained. It’s the perfect focal point for any Queenstown gathering.

Can we choose the theme or subject of the painting?

Absolutely! While our artists have their own unique flair, we love collaborating with you to match your event's theme, brand colours, or specific messaging. Whether it’s a corporate logo, a scenic Otago landscape, or an abstract vibe, we’ll discuss the concept beforehand to ensure the final piece perfectly aligns with your vision. We bring the creativity, but you provide the inspiration!

Is it safe and clean for indoor venues?

Safety and cleanliness are our top priorities. We use high-quality, low-odour professional spray paints or acrylics depending on the venue. Our team brings floor protection, drop cloths, and ventilation fans if needed. We’ve worked in high-end Queenstown hotels and rustic vineyard sheds alike—we know how to keep the environment pristine while the art happens. You won't have to worry about a single stray spray.

How much space do you need to set up?

We typically need a space of about 3x3 metres, but we are quite flexible. All we really need is a flat surface for our canvas or panel and a bit of room for the artist to move. If you have a specific spot in mind at your venue, let us know and we’ll make it work. Access to a power outlet is helpful but not always mandatory.

Do I need to pay a deposit upfront?

Not at all! One of the best parts about Graffitifun is our 'no cure, no pay' mentality. You don't need to pay anything upfront. We believe in our service and our artists so much that you only pay after the workshop or performance is completed. This keeps the booking process stress-free and gives you total peace of mind for your Queenstown event.

How long does a live painting session usually take?

A standard live painting performance usually lasts between 2 and 4 hours, which perfectly covers many evening functions or afternoon festivals. However, we can adapt to your schedule. If you have a multi-day conference or a shorter brand activation, we can scale the detail and speed of the painting to suit your timeline perfectly. Just let us know your run-of-sheet!

Do you offer live painting in other Kiwi cities?

We sure do! Graffitifun is active across New Zealand. While we love the vibe here in Queenstown, our artists are also ready to bring the fire to Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Hamilton. If your brand is doing a national tour or you have offices in different cities, we can coordinate a consistent street art experience across the whole country. Just tell us where you need us!

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Queenstown isn't just the adventure capital of the world; it’s a growing hub for creative expression. While most people think of bungy jumping or skiing when they hear 'QT', the local street art scene is quietly booming. From the hidden gems in the alleyways near Church Street to the vibrant murals that pop up during the Winter Festival, there’s a raw, mountain-town energy here that we love to tap into. 🏔️

Fun Fact: Did you know that Queenstown's crisp, cool mountain air can actually affect how spray paint dries? Our artists are experts at navigating the Otago climate, ensuring your live painting looks sharp whether it’s a snowy July evening or a baking January afternoon. We bring that local 'can-do' attitude to every performance, making sure the art feels as epic as a jet boat ride on the Shotover! 🎨🔥

Pricing

Our live painting performances in Queenstown are surprisingly affordable, offering massive bang-for-your-buck in terms of entertainment value. Prices typically range from NZ$45 to NZ$95 per person (based on total guest count or project scale), but because every event is unique, we prefer to give you a tailored price.

Variables include the size of the artwork, the materials used, and the duration of the performance. The best bit? You only pay after the job is done—no deposits or sneaky hidden fees here! 💰
