Is the graffiti workshop safe for school-aged children?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide all students with high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and ponchos. Our professional instructors are experts at managing group dynamics and ensuring that spray cans are used responsibly. We only use high-quality paint and conduct workshops in well-ventilated outdoor areas or large indoor spaces that meet safety standards. It is a controlled, educational, and totally safe environment for all ages.

Do we need to come to a studio, or can you come to our school?

We are incredibly flexible! We can host the workshop right on your school grounds in Denver, provided there is a suitable outdoor wall or open space. If your school doesn't have the space, don't worry—we have access to various creative partner locations and legal street art spots across the city. We bring all the necessary materials to you, including mobile canvases if we are working in a space without a permanent wall.

What age groups are these school workshops suitable for?

Our workshops are designed to be inclusive for everyone from elementary school sets to high school seniors. We adjust our teaching style and the complexity of the techniques based on the age group. For younger kids, we focus more on color and basic shapes, while older students can dive deep into complex lettering, 3D effects, and the rich history of the global street art movement. We make sure everyone feels successful!

How long does a typical graffiti workshop for schools last?

A standard school workshop typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a solid intro to the history and culture of graffiti, a demonstration of basic techniques, and plenty of hands-on time for the students to create their own masterpieces. We can also adapt the schedule to fit into your specific school periods or block scheduling if needed—just let us know your requirements.

What materials do we need to provide for the workshop?

We’ve got you covered! We provide everything required for a professional street art experience. This includes a wide variety of spray paint colors, specialized nozzles (caps) for different effects, protective clothing (gloves, masks, and suits), and the surface to paint on (whether it's a communal wall or individual canvases). The only thing students need to bring is their creativity and clothes they don't mind getting a little dusty!

Do the students need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for complete beginners. Our professional artists walk students through every step of the process, from holding the can correctly to mastering 'fading' and 'outlining.' We find that even students who don't consider themselves 'artistic' often excel at graffiti because it's such a physical and expressive medium. It’s all about building confidence and having a blast while learning a new skill.

How does this workshop help with team building for students?

Graffiti is a fantastic tool for teaching teamwork. In our school workshops, we often have students work together on a large-scale mural. This requires them to communicate, plan their color schemes, and respect each other's creative space. It’s a powerful way to turn individual creativity into a collective achievement. Plus, seeing their combined work at the end creates a huge sense of shared pride among the classmates!

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your Denver students? It’s not just about the paint; it’s about the process of self-expression and building something amazing from scratch. Here’s why schools love working with us:

⭐ Boosts confidence: Seeing a giant mural come to life gives students a massive sense of accomplishment.
🧠 Cultural education: We teach the history of street art as a legitimate and influential global art movement.
🤝 Teamwork vibes: Collaborative murals require communication and planning, perfect for class bonding.
🛡️ Safety first: We provide top-tier protective gear and professional-grade, low-odor paints.
🎨 Zero experience needed: Our artists are pros at making everyone feel like a master, regardless of skill level.
✅ Zero stress: No upfront payment and backup artists ready to go—we handle all the logistics!

Step by step

Intro and history: We kick things off with a high-energy intro about the roots of graffiti and its evolution into modern street art.
Safety briefing: Students get geared up in masks and gloves while learning the vital "do's and don'ts" of spray painting.
Technique demo: Our pro artists show off the basics—how to make clean lines, dots, and smooth color gradients.
Sketching the vision: Before hitting the wall, students brainstorm and sketch their ideas on paper to plan their design.
First spray: Time to get messy! Students start applying their base colors under the guidance of our mentors.
Adding detail: We teach how to add shadows, highlights, and that iconic "3D" look that makes graffiti pop.
The outline: Students learn the "power-line" technique to sharpen their edges and make the design look professional.
Final touches: We add highlights and "tags" to finish the collective mural or individual pieces.
Group photo and wrap-up: We celebrate the hard work with a photoshoot in front of the new artwork!

Local culture

Denver is a true hidden gem in the world of street art! From the world-famous murals in the RiNo (River North) Art District to the colorful alleys of Santa Fe Drive, our city breathes creativity. We draw inspiration from the local legends who have turned Denver’s brick walls into an outdoor museum. During our workshops, we often discuss the local scene and how students can contribute to Denver's culture in a positive, legal way. 🎨

Fun fact: Did you know Denver hosts "CRUSH WALLS," an annual international street art festival? It has transformed the city into one of the most mural-dense places in the US!
