Do we need any prior art experience to participate?

Absolutely! Our university workshops in Rumelange are designed for everyone, from complete beginners to closet Picassos. Our professional artists will guide you through the basics of can control, nozzle types, and layering techniques. By the end of the session, you'll be amazed at what you can create. We focus on the 'fun' in Graffitifun, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and inspired throughout the process.

What equipment is provided in the workshop?

We provide everything you need to create your masterpiece. This includes high-quality spray cans in a rainbow of colours, various nozzles (caps) for different effects, protective suits, gloves, and masks. We usually work on large plastic foils or mobile boards, but we can also arrange for canvas sessions if you'd like something to hang in your dorm. Just bring your enthusiasm and some old clothes!

Is the spray paint safe to use for students?

Safety is our top priority. We use low-pressure spray paint which is easier to control and provide full protective gear, including professional-grade masks and coveralls. Our artists provide a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a can. We also ensure the workshop takes place in a well-ventilated area, often outdoors or in large industrial halls, to keep the air fresh while you focus on your art.

How long does a typical university graffiti session last?

Standard university workshops usually last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief history of street art, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the creation of a large-scale collaborative mural. If you have a specific schedule or a shorter window during a student union event, we can tailor the duration to fit your timetable perfectly.

Where in Rumelange do the workshops take place?

We are very flexible! We can host the workshop at a location of your choice near the university, or we can suggest cool spots around Rumelange. If the weather looks dodgy, don't worry—we have access to indoor locations and plenty of backup artists to ensure your event goes ahead. We can also set up mobile 'graffiti walls' right on your campus for maximum visibility.

Can we create a permanent mural for our campus?

Yes, we love helping student groups create something lasting! While many workshops focus on temporary foils, we can certainly arrange for a permanent mural on a university wall (with the correct permissions, of course). Alternatively, we can work on large wooden panels that can be mounted in common rooms or student unions after the event as a permanent reminder of your intake's creativity.

How do we handle the payment and booking?

Booking is easy and stress-free. You don't need to pay anything upfront; you only pay after the workshop is completed and you're 100% satisfied. Simply request a quote through our website, and we'll get back to you with a tailormade plan. We even have a 'Cost Calculator' tool to help you estimate your budget instantly, making it perfect for student committee planning.

The ultimate icebreaker: Nothing breaks down social barriers like getting messy with spray paint and creating a joint masterpiece. 🤝
Stress relief: Forget the library for a few hours. The physical act of 'bombing' a wall is incredibly therapeutic and refreshing. 🧠

No talent required: Our pros make sure everyone walks away with something they’re proud of, regardless of their artistic skill. ✨
Bespoke themes: We can tailor the session to your faculty, society, or specific event theme (e.g., Sustainability, Innovation). 🌍
Professional reliability: With back-up artists and years of experience, we guarantee your event will run smoothly. 🏆

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: We start with a brief look at the history of graffiti and a demo from a pro artist.
Safety first: Suit up in your protective gear and learn the do's and don'ts of spray cans.
First lines: Head to the 'practice wall' to get a feel for the pressure and distance of the can.
Lettering basics: Learn how to build your own tag or 'throw-up' with style and flow.
The big concept: Collaborate with your fellow students to sketch out a large-scale mural design.
Filling & fading: Master the art of colour gradients and filling large areas smoothly.
Outlining & detail: Add the sharp outlines and 'highlights' that make the artwork pop.
The final reveal: Step back, remove the tape, and admire your collective masterpiece!
Photo op: Capture the perfect group shot with your creation for the university socials.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Rumelange, known locally as the 'Red Rock' region, has a gritty, industrial heritage that serves as the perfect backdrop for a graffiti revolution. The town’s history with iron ore mining gives it a raw, authentic feel that resonates deeply with the origins of street art. While you're here, you're just a stone's throw from other creative hubs like Esch-sur-Alzette and Dudelange, making this the epicentre of Luxembourg’s southern cultural scene.

Fun Fact: Rumelange is home to the National Mining Museum, and much like the miners of old, graffiti artists today use the earth's minerals (in the form of pigments) to leave their legacy on the walls!

Participating in a workshop here isn't just about art; it’s about connecting with the local landscape's transition from an industrial powerhouse to a modern, creative sanctuary. It’s the ultimate way to bond with fellow students while exploring the spirit of the Minett region.

Pricing

Our university workshops are designed to be inclusive and accessible for student budgets. Pricing typically ranges from €35 to €70 per person, depending on the number of participants, the location, and whether you want your art on canvas or large-scale panels.

We believe in transparency and flexibility, which is why we offer a no-upfront-payment policy—you only pay once the workshop is complete and you’re thrilled with the results. 🎨
