Do the participants need any artistic experience?

Absolutely! No prior painting experience is needed for our youth projects. Our professional artists are expert mentors who guide everyone through the fundamentals of spray painting, from basic can control to complex lettering. We focus on the creative process and expression rather than perfection, ensuring everyone walks away feeling like a pro. It is all about having fun and learning something new together in Lugano.

Is the workshop safe for young people?

Safety is our top priority for every Lugano project. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls, to keep everyone safe and clean. We use professional spray paint in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially prepared indoor spaces. Our artists lead with a safety briefing to ensure everyone understands how to use the equipment responsibly, making it a worry-free experience for organisers and parents.

How long does a typical session last?

A standard youth workshop in Lugano typically lasts between 2 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a solid introduction, some practice runs on the 'training wall', and the completion of a large-scale collaborative mural or individual canvases. If you have a specific schedule in mind for a festival or youth club event, we can easily adapt the duration to fit your needs!

What is the ideal group size for youth projects?

We are incredibly flexible! Whether you have a small group of 10 or a Large-scale youth organisation event with 100+ participants, we can handle it. We have a large team of backup artists available, so we can scale the workshop up or down depending on your requirements. Larger groups are often split into smaller teams to ensure everyone gets plenty of hands-on time with the cans.

Can we keep the artwork we create?

Yes! One of the best things about our youth projects is that the participants create something tangible. Depending on the setup, we can work on a large temporary wall that stays on-site, or each participant can create their own individual masterpiece on a high-quality canvas to take home. It is a fantastic way to remember the day and keep that creative spark alive long after the workshop ends.

What happens if it rains on the day?

While we love the sun-drenched vibes of Lugano, we always have a Plan B. We can arrange for indoor workshops using specialized low-odour paints or set up protective marquees. Our creative team is expert at adapting to the weather, and thanks to our backup artist system, we rarely ever have to cancel. We ensure the creative energy keeps flowing, rain or shine!

What materials are included in the price?

We bring everything! Your booking includes premium spray paint in a rainbow of colours, caps, protective clothing, masks, gloves, and the painting surfaces (walls or canvases). We even handle the floor protection and the final clean-up. All you need to provide is an enthusiastic group of young people and a location (which we can also help you find if needed). No hidden costs, just pure creativity.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti project for your next youth initiative in Lugano? It’s simple: it’s the ultimate bridge between structured learning and pure, unadulterated fun. Here is why it works:

Total Creative Freedom: There are no 'mistakes' in graffiti, only layers. It’s a safe space for young people to express themselves without judgment. ✨
Teamwork in Action: Creating a large-scale mural requires communication and collaboration—skills that last a lifetime. 💪
Inclusion-Led: Graffiti is a universal language that breaks down barriers, making it perfect for diverse groups. 🌍
Confidence Boost: Seeing a massive, vibrant piece of art and knowing "I helped create that" gives an incredible sense of achievement. 🏆
Pro Mentorship: Our artists aren't just teachers; they are active creators who inspire participants through their passion and skill. 🎤
Stress-Free Booking: No upfront payment, backup artists on standby, and 100% fun guaranteed! 🔥

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: We kick things off with a high-energy intro and a quick safety chat so everyone feels comfortable with the gear.
Concept Brainstorming: The group works together to choose a theme or 'tag' that represents their collective identity or the Lugano community.
Sketching the Vision: We grab the markers and sketch out the design, learning about composition and letter structure.
Can Control 101: Time to shake the cans! We teach participants how to control pressure, distance, and lines on a practice surface.
The Outline: Our artists help the group transfer the sketch onto the main wall or canvases, creating the foundation of the mural.
Filling with Colour: This is where the magic happens! Everyone gets to pick their favorite shades and start filling in the design.
Adding Details: We level up the artwork with highlights, shadows, and 'cuts' to make the graffiti pop off the surface.
The Final Reveal: We step back to admire the masterpiece, take group photos, and celebrate the incredible work achieved together.

Local culture

Lugano isn't just about stunning lake views and chic boutiques; it has a burgeoning creative heart that beats through its local parks and youth spaces. From the urban vibes of the Centro Giovani to the artistic atmosphere of LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura, the city is the perfect backdrop for a modern street art intervention. We love bringing our workshops to the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland, blending the local 'dolce vita' with a raw, urban aesthetic.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Lugano hosts various street art initiatives aimed at revitalising urban underpasses? It is a city that increasingly sees the value of public art as a way to connect its diverse communities! 🎨
