Frequently asked questions

Is graffiti art safe for children?

Absolutely! We use high-quality spray paints, but safety is our number one priority. We provide every child with a professional-grade mask, gloves, and protective overalls to keep their clothes clean. Our Geordie artists are fully trained in health and safety, ensuring a controlled environment where the only thing that gets wild is their creativity. Plus, we use low-odour paints where possible!

What is the minimum age for a Newcastle graffiti party?

The sweet spot for our graffiti workshops is usually ages 8 and up. At this age, kids have the hand strength to press the spray nozzles and the focus to follow the artistic techniques. However, we can adapt sessions for slightly younger groups using more stencil work and water-based markers. If you've got a mix of ages, just let us know and we will tailor the kit!

What happens if it rains on the day of the party?

Don't worry about the Geordie weather! We have access to several cool indoor creative spaces across Newcastle and Gateshead where we can spray safely. If you have your own indoor venue like a community hall, we can often make that work too by using extensive floor and wall protection. We always have a backup plan so the party goes ahead, rain or shine.

Do the kids get to keep their artwork?

The birthday boy or girl gets to keep their giant masterpiece! For the other guests, it depends on the package you choose. Usually, everyone works together on a huge communal mural, but we can also set it up so every child gets a smaller individual canvas or board to take home. It’s the ultimate party bag gift that they actually created themselves!

How long does a typical workshop last?

Our standard kids' birthday workshops in Newcastle typically last between 1.5 and 2 hours. This gives us enough time for the 'Tag' practice, the technique demo, and the final masterpiece creation without the kids losing focus. If you’re looking for a more intensive 'Street Art Masterclass' for older teens, we can extend the session to 3 hours.

Do I need to pay a deposit to book?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our flexibility. You don't need to pay a penny upfront! We believe in our service so much that you only pay after the workshop is finished and you’re 100% happy with the result. We accept bank transfers or cards, making the admin side of the birthday party totally stress-free for parents.

Can you hold the workshop at my house?

We can host the party at one of our partner urban art spots in Newcastle, or we can come to you! If you have a garden with a sturdy fence or a garage with good ventilation, we can set up our mobile boards. We bring all the protective plastic sheeting to ensure your property stays paint-free—except for the canvases, of course!
