Is the graffiti workshop safe for young people?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun, safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 respiratory masks, protective gloves, and overalls to all participants in our Newcastle youth projects. Our professional artists are fully DBS checked and highly experienced in managing groups of young people, ensuring a controlled, safe, and positive environment while everyone explores their creativity with the spray cans.

How long does a typical youth workshop last?

A standard youth project workshop in Newcastle typically lasts between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This includes the initial safety briefing, sketching out designs, learning spray techniques, and the final painting session. If you have a specific schedule or a longer-term project in mind, we can easily adapt the duration to fit your community centre or school timetable.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything needed for a successful street art session! This includes a wide range of premium spray paint colours, caps, protective gear (masks, gloves, suits), and the painting surfaces (like large wooden panels or canvases). All you need to bring is plenty of energy and clothes you don't mind getting a tiny bit of paint on!

Do the participants need previous art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Whether the kids are budding Picassos or have never touched a spray can before, our artists guide them through every step. We start with the basics of 'tagging' and 'throwing up' before moving on to more complex pieces. It’s all about building confidence and having a great time.

Where in Newcastle do the workshops take place?

We are incredibly flexible! We can host the workshop at various outdoor locations in Newcastle, or we can come to your specific youth club, school, or community centre. If you don't have a space, just let us know; we have a network of partner locations across Tyne and Wear that are perfect for getting creative with graffiti.

What are the benefits of graffiti for youth groups?

Graffiti is a fantastic tool for youth engagement. It teaches teamwork, improves fine motor skills, and provides a healthy, legal outlet for self-expression. Many Newcastle youth leaders find that our projects help build self-esteem and give young people a sense of pride in creating something visual and impactful for their local community.

Local culture

Newcastle has a gritty, creative soul that’s perfect for street art. From the iconic murals in the Ouseburn Valley to the hidden gems around Shieldfield, the city’s urban landscape is an evolving gallery. Our Newcastle youth projects tap into this local heritage, encouraging Geordie youngsters to add their own voices to the city's creative conversation. We love the energy of the North East, and it shows in every workshop we host!

Fun Fact: Newcastle is home to some incredible legal graffiti walls, and the street art scene here is so respected that it’s often used to celebrate local heroes—from football legends to historical figures! 🎨

Pricing

Our graffiti youth projects are designed to be accessible and impactful. Pricing generally ranges from £25 to £55 per person, depending on the group size, the duration of the project, and the materials required.

Since every youth group has different needs, we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all price list. Whether you're a small charity or a large council-funded initiative, we want to work with you!
