Is the graffiti workshop safe for young people?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun, safety is our top priority. We provide all necessary protective gear, including high-quality FFP3 masks, gloves, and overalls. Our professional instructors are experienced in working with youth groups and ensure a controlled environment. We use low-pressure spray cans which are easier for beginners to handle, and all our sessions are fully insured and risk-assessed for your peace of mind.

How long does a typical session last?

A standard youth project workshop in Glasgow typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This allows enough time for an introduction to street art history, practicing basic spray techniques, and completing a final collaborative masterpiece. If you have a specific schedule or want a full-day programme, we can easily customise the duration to fit your project's needs. We are flexible and here to help!

Where do the workshops take place in Glasgow?

We can bring the workshop to you! If you have a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated indoor area with permission, we can set up there. Alternatively, we work with various creative hubs across Glasgow. We use reclaimed wood panels or mobile cellophane walls (wrap-around pillars) so we don't leave any permanent marks on the property. We make sure the site is left clean and tidy after the fun.

Do the participants need to have any drawing skills?

No artistic talent is required at all! Our workshops are designed to be inclusive and accessible. Our artist-mentors guide the group through every step, from holding the can correctly to creating "fat" and "thin" lines. We focus on the process, expression, and teamwork rather than technical perfection. You'll be amazed at the professional-looking mural the group produces by the end of the session!

What should the participants wear?

We recommend wearing old clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a bit of paint on. While we provide protective overalls and gloves, graffiti can occasionally be messy, and those tiny paint particles have a way of finding gaps! It’s all part of the authentic street art experience. If we are working outdoors, please ensure the group is dressed appropriately for the Glasgow weather—layers are always a good idea!

Do we have to pay in advance?

Yes! One of the best things about our Glasgow youth projects is that there is no upfront payment required. You only pay after the workshop has been successfully completed. We believe in the quality of our service and want you to be 100% satisfied with the experience. This makes the booking process stress-free for youth leaders, charity organisers, and local councils alike. Ready to book?

What is the age limit for youth projects?

Our graffiti workshops are ideal for secondary school ages and up, typically from 10 to 18 years old. However, we can adapt our teaching style for slightly younger groups if requested. Street art is a powerful medium for teenagers as it resonates with their culture and provides a constructive outlet for energy. It’s about building confidence, learning a new craft, and seeing tangible results from their hard work.

Step by step

The Arrival: Your professional graffiti artist arrives at the Glasgow location with all the gear. We set up the "canvas" area using mobile walls or boards.
Street Art Intro: We kick things off with a brief, high-energy talk about the history of graffiti, moving from illegal tagging to world-class gallery art.
Safety Briefing: Everyone gets kitted out in masks, gloves, and overalls. We explain how to use the equipment responsibly and safely.
Can Control: Participants start with "air-spraying" to get a feel for the pressure, then move on to basic shapes like dots, lines, and fills on practice areas.
Design Phase: The group brainstorms a theme—perhaps something reflecting Glasgow's culture or a specific message for the youth centre.
The Big Burner: Under the guidance of our mentors, the youth group works together to outline, fill, and detail a massive, colourful mural.
Final Touches: We teach the "pro" tricks, like adding highlights and "force fields" (outer glows) to make the artwork pop.
Photo Op & Clean up: We take group photos with the finished masterpiece! We then pack up all materials, leaving the space exactly as we found it.

Local culture

Glasgow is a city that breathes art, from the grand galleries to the world-renowned "City Centre Mural Trail." By bringing a graffiti workshop to your youth project, you're tapping into a local heritage that includes artists like Smug and Rogue-One. Our workshops celebrate the "Dear Green Place" by encouraging young Glaswegians to add their own voices to the city's visual narrative. We love working in areas from the East End to Maryhill, helping local kids see that their creativity has a place in the urban landscape. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know Glasgow is home to one of the tallest murals in the UK? The "St. Mungo" mural on High Street shows that street art is now a respected and beloved part of Glasgow's modern identity! 🔥

Pricing

Our youth workshops are competitively priced to ensure community accessibility while maintaining the highest quality of materials and instruction. We offer scalable options to fit your budget. 💰

Estimated Pricing: £25 - £55 per person (prices vary based on group size, duration, and chosen materials).

Because every youth project in Glasgow is unique, we don't believe in "one size fits all." Whether you have a small budget for a local club or a larger grant for a community mural, we can work with you! 🏆
