Is the graffiti workshop safe for young people?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun, safety is our top priority. We provide all necessary protective gear, including high-quality masks, gloves, and overalls. Our professional artists are fully trained in health and safety protocols and provide a thorough briefing before any paint is sprayed. We use low-pressure cans that are easier to control, ensuring a safe, supervised, and professional environment for all young people involved.

Do the participants need any artistic skills?

No prior artistic experience or 'talent' is required! Our workshops are designed to be inclusive and accessible. We start with the absolute basics, like how to hold a spray can and create simple lines. Our artists guide every participant step-by-step, ensuring everyone walks away with a piece of art they are proud of. It’s all about the process, expression, and having a blast.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

For youth projects, we typically recommend a duration of 2 to 3 hours. This allows enough time for an introduction to street art history, a demonstration of techniques, sketching ideas, and the final spray-painting session. If you have a specific schedule or are running a full-day community event, we can certainly adapt the timing to fit your Liverpool youth programme perfectly.

Can you host the workshop at our youth centre?

We are incredibly flexible! We can come to your youth centre, community hub, or a local outdoor space in Liverpool. If you don't have a venue, we can help find a suitable legal wall or partner space nearby. We use mobile plastic sheeting and protection to ensure that only the intended canvases or walls get painted—keeping the rest of the venue spotless!

What materials are included in the price?

Our standard youth workshops include high-quality professional spray paint in a variety of vibrant colours, caps (nozzles), protective clothing (masks, gloves, overalls), and chosen surfaces like canvases or boards. We also provide sketching materials for the design phase. Basically, you just need to bring your energy and enthusiasm—we take care of all the logistics and mess-management!

What are the benefits of street art for youth development?

Graffiti workshops are fantastic for youth projects because they combine creative expression with teamwork and confidence building. Unlike traditional art, street art feels 'cool' and accessible, often engaging young people who might otherwise shy away from creative activities. It teaches patience, planning, and helps transform local spaces through positive, legal creativity. It’s a powerful tool for social connection and personal growth.

What happens if we need to cancel or change our booking?

We believe in a 'fun first' approach! Because we don't require upfront payments, there is no financial stress to get things started. Furthermore, we have a large team of backup artists across the UK, meaning that even in the event of an emergency, your workshop will go ahead as planned. Our focus is 100% on providing a high-energy, rewarding experience for the teenagers.

The experience

🔥 Authentic Street Cred: We work with real graffiti artists who live and breathe urban culture.
✨ Zero Risk Booking: No deposit needed—we believe in our service so much, you pay after the fun is done.
💪 Confidence Boosting: There are no mistakes in graffiti, only "happy accidents" that build self-esteem.
🏆 Proven Reliability: With backup artists on standby, your event in Liverpool will never be cancelled.
🎉 Complete Logistics: From flooring protection to premium spray cans, we handle every single detail.

Step by step

Initial briefing: We kick things off with a high-energy intro to the world of street art, exploring its history from New York subways to Liverpool's Baltic Triangle.
Safety first: Every participant gets suited up in protective gear and receives a briefing on how to use spray cans safely and responsibly.
Mastering the nozzle: Our pros demonstrate essential techniques—lines, dots, fades, and those all-important 'fat' vs 'skinny' caps.
Concept sketching: Young people get onto paper first, sketching out their tags or collaborative mural designs with expert guidance.
The first spray: Under the watchful eye of our artists, participants start applying their base layers to the canvas or wall.
Adding detail: This is where the magic happens! We teach how to add 3D effects, outlines, and highlights to make the art pop.
Group collaboration: If it's a team project, the group works together to connect their individual styles into one cohesive masterpiece.
Grand reveal: We finish with a photo session and a feedback loop where everyone can show off their hard work and new skills.

Good to know

Duration: Standard sessions run for 2-3 hours, but we offer full-day community mural intensives too.

Local culture

Liverpool has a soul made of music and art, and its street art scene is no exception. From the iconic 'Liverpool Wings' in the Baltic Triangle to the towering murals of local heroes like Jürgen Klopp and The Beatles, this city breathes creativity. Our workshops tap into this local Scouse pride, encouraging young people to add their own modern chapter to Liverpool’s visual story.

🎨 Fun Fact: Did you know that Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle was recently named one of the "coolest" neighbourhoods in the UK? It's the spiritual home of the city's street art Renaissance, and many of our artists have pieces hidden in its famous backstreets!
