Is the graffiti workshop safe for children during a Communion party?

Absolutely! We take safety very seriously. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for every child. Our professional artists are fully DBS checked and experienced in working with young people. Plus, our workshops in Liverpool are held in well-ventilated areas to ensure everyone breathes easy while they create their masterpieces. Your child's First Communion celebration is in safe, expert hands with us.

How long does the graffiti session typically last?

Usually, our Communion graffiti workshops last between 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This gives the group enough time to learn the basic techniques, practice their 'tagging', and complete a final collaborative mural or individual canvases. We find this timing is the 'sweet spot' for keeping energy levels high and ensuring everyone finishes their artwork without feeling rushed before the party food is served!

What happens if it rains on the day of the celebration?

While we love the authentic feel of Liverpool's outdoor spaces, we always have a Plan B. If the British weather doesn't cooperate, we have access to several indoor creative spaces across the city. Alternatively, if you've booked a private venue, we can set up our mobile 'graffiti walls' indoors using low-odour, water-based paints and plenty of floor protection to keep the celebration going rain or shine.

What should the kids wear for the graffiti workshop?

We recommend that the children wear comfortable clothes that they don't mind getting a little bit of paint on. Even though we provide full-body protective suits and gloves, street art can sometimes be a bit messy! Think trainers and old jeans rather than their Sunday best. If they want to change after the Communion service into 'artist gear,' that's usually the best way to go.

Do the children need any previous artistic experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for complete beginners. Our professional Liverpool artists will guide the kids through every step, from how to hold the can to creating cool 3D effects. You'll be amazed at how quickly they pick it up. By the end of the session, even the kids who claim they 'can't draw' will have created something they are incredibly proud of.

Can you host the party at our chosen venue in Liverpool?

We are very flexible! We can host the workshop at one of our established street art spots in central Liverpool, or we can bring the entire setup to you. If you've hired a community centre, a garden, or a hotel function room, our mobile team will show up with all the gear. We handle the setup and the cleanup, so you can focus on the party.

How do I book a Communion graffiti party and when do I pay?

Booking is easy and stress-free. First, use our online Cost Calculator to get an estimate, or send us a request for a custom quote. Once we've agreed on the details, we'll pencil you in. One of the best parts about booking with Graffitifun is that we don't require an upfront payment — you can pay after the workshop is complete. We also have backup artists ready to go!

The experience

Why settle for the ordinary when you can have an extraordinary street art experience? A graffiti workshop is the perfect way to bridge the gap between a traditional ceremony and a fun, modern celebration. 🚀

Totally unique: It is the party that everyone in the class will be talking about for months.
Creative expression: Guests don't just watch; they get hands-on and learn a brand new skill.
Memorable souvenirs: Everyone goes home with their own custom canvas—no more boring party bags!
Stress-free for parents: We handle the setup, the entertainment, and the cleanup. You just enjoy the party.
Professional vibes: Our artists are the real deal, bringing authentic Liverpool street culture to your venue.
No risk booking: With no upfront payment and backup artists ready, your event is guaranteed to go ahead.

Step by step

Intro & safety briefing: We kick things off with a high-energy intro, hand out the protective gear, and explain how to use the spray cans safely.
Mastering the nozzle: Our artists show the group how to control pressure, create thin lines, and fill in large areas without drips.
Tagging practice: Every child gets to practice their 'tag' or nickname on a practice wall to get a feel for the paint.
Concept sketching: We help the group brainstorm a design that celebrates the Communion boy or girl, often incorporating their name and favourite colours.
The big mural: The kids work together on a large-scale piece of art, learning about layering, shading, and highlights.
Individual canvases: Each guest gets their own canvas to decorate and take home as a unique souvenir of the day.
Final touches: Our professionals help add those crisp outlines and 'pops' of colour that make the artwork really stand out.
The big reveal: We take group photos with the finished masterpiece – a perfect memory for the family album!

Local culture

Liverpool is a city that breathes creativity, from the iconic murals of Liverpool FC and Everton stars to the ever-evolving street art galleries in the Baltic Triangle. Our workshops tap into this rich Scouse heritage, giving kids a chance to contribute to the city's artistic soul. We often find inspiration in Liverpool’s maritime history or its legendary music scene when helping kids design their pieces. 🎨

Fun fact: Did you know Liverpool is home to one of the largest outdoor art galleries in the UK? The 'Abbey Road' style murals and the giant Liver Birds found around the city provide the perfect backdrop for our young artists to get inspired!
