Is the spray paint safe for people with sensitivities?

Absolutely! We take safety very seriously. We provide high-quality FFP3 respiratory masks, gloves, and protective overalls to all participants. Our workshops in Liverpool are typically held in well-ventilated outdoor areas or dedicated studio spaces with high ceilings. Our artists are trained to guide everyone safely, ensuring that the only thing you need to worry about is which colour to pick next. We make sure the environment is calm and controlled for everyone's peace of mind.

Where in Liverpool do the workshops take place?

We are incredibly flexible. Our graffiti workshops can be hosted at various creative hubs across Liverpool, or we can come to your specific facility if you have a suitable outdoor wall or space. If you're looking for the authentic Scouse street art experience, we can arrange for sessions near the Baltic Triangle! Whether it's a community centre or a private garden, we bring the art to you, making it as accessible as possible.

Do participants need to have previous art experience?

Not at all! Our special needs programs are designed to be inclusive for all skill levels. Graffiti is a very 'forgiving' art form – there are no mistakes, only unique styles. Our professional artists are expert coaches who help everyone build confidence, from holding the can for the first time to signing their finished masterpiece. It’s all about the joy of movement, colour, and self-expression rather than technical perfection.

What do participants get to take home after the workshop?

Every participant gets to take home their own unique canvas that they've worked on during the session. It’s a fantastic way to remember the day and feel a sense of pride every time they see it hanging on the wall. While we can't take the brick walls home, the skills and the canvas creations stay with you forever. It's a tangible reward for all the hard work and creativity put in during the workshop.

How long does a typical session last?

We recommend a duration of 1.5 to 2 hours for our special needs groups. This timeframe is usually the 'sweet spot' – it provides enough time to learn the basics and get creative without becoming overwhelming or tiring. However, we are Scouse and flexible! If you feel your group would benefit from a shorter, high-energy burst or a longer, more relaxed pace, we can easily customise the schedule to suit your specific needs.

Do I need to pay for the workshop upfront?

No, you don't! At Graffitifun, we believe in stress-free booking. You can secure your date and time with us, and payment is only required after the workshop has been completed. This gives you total peace of mind, especially when coordinating for groups or organisations. Our priority is making sure you have an amazing experience in Liverpool, and that starts with an easy, trust-based booking process.

Is there a minimum or maximum group size?

We usually suggest a minimum group size of 5 to 10 people for the best atmosphere, but we can accommodate much larger groups too. For special needs programs, we often limit the artist-to-participant ratio to ensure everyone gets enough 1-on-1 attention. If you have a very small group or a huge community organisation, just let us know. We always tailor the setup to ensure everyone feels supported and included.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your special needs program in Liverpool? It’s more than just painting; it’s a powerful tool for empowerment and joy. Here’s why it works so well:

Sensory Engagement: The texture of the spray, the sound of the ball shaking in the can, and the visual impact of bright colours provide a rich sensory experience. ✨
Motor Skill Development: Managing the pressure of the spray nozzle and moving the arm freely helps with both fine and gross motor coordination. 💪
Boosts Confidence: Seeing a large-scale piece of art come to life creates an immediate sense of pride and "I did that!" satisfaction. 🏆
Safe Self-Expression: Graffiti has no "right" or "wrong," allowing participants to express emotions and personality without fear of judgment. 🎤
Team Building: Working on a shared wall promotes social interaction and communication in a relaxed, non-pressured environment. 👫
Stress-Free Logistics: With our backup artist policy and no upfront payments, your event is guaranteed to be smooth and worry-free. 🛡️

Step by step

Warm welcome and intro: We start with a friendly meet-and-greet where our artists introduce themselves and show some cool street art examples.
Safety first: Everyone gets suited up in protective gear, including masks and gloves, while we explain how to use the cans safely.
Learning the 'Can-trol': We practice basic movements, like making dots and lines, to get everyone comfortable with the feel of the spray can.
Designing the masterpiece: Participants start sketching their ideas on paper or directly onto their canvases with guidance from our pros.
Colour explosion: This is the best part! Everyone starts filling in their designs with a huge range of vibrant, exciting colours.
Adding the details: We help participants add outlines, highlights, and 'shines' to make their artwork really pop.
The big reveal: We take a moment to look at everyone's work, celebrate the achievements, and take some group photos.
Clean up and wrap up: We pack away the gear, and everyone gets to take their finished canvas home to show off to friends and family.

Local culture

Liverpool is a global capital of culture, and its street art scene is as vibrant as its musical heritage. From the towering murals in the Baltic Triangle to the iconic Beatles-inspired pieces dotted around the city, Liverpool wears its heart on its walls. Our workshops tap into this local energy, encouraging participants to express their own "Scouse" identity through bold colours and tags. Whether you're inspired by the Liver Birds or the waterfront, there's no better place to pick up a spray can.

Fun Fact: Did you know Liverpool has some of the largest murals in the UK? The city's street art scene is constantly evolving, making it a living gallery that inspires every workshop we run!
