Is the graffiti workshop safe for people with sensory sensitivities?

Absolutely! We take safety very seriously. We provide high-quality FFP3 respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits to ensure everyone stays clean and safe. Our Sheffield instructors are trained to monitor the group constantly, ensuring that spray cans are used correctly and that the environment remains a positive, hazard-free space for all participants to enjoy their creative journey.

Can you host the workshop at our specific location in Sheffield?

We are incredibly flexible! Whether you want us to come to your facility in Sheffield or you'd like to visit one of our curated street art locations, we can make it happen. We often work in community centres, school halls, or outdoor paved areas. We just need a bit of ventilation and some space to move around. We bring all the protective floor coverings too!

Do participants need any previous art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our 'Steel City' artists specialise in breaking down complex techniques into simple, manageable steps. We focus on the joy of movement and the magic of seeing colours blend. Every participant will leave with a sense of pride in what they've created, regardless of their prior artistic experience.

What is the age limit for the special needs graffiti program?

We recommend a minimum age of 6 for our workshops, but we don't have an upper limit! For our special needs programmes, we focus more on individual capability and interest rather than a strict age bracket. Our instructors are experts at adapting their teaching style to suit children, teenagers, and adults alike, ensuring everyone feels included and valued.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard inclusive session usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining engagement without causing fatigue. However, we can easily shorten or lengthen the session based on the specific needs and attention spans of your group. We work at your pace—there is never any rush to finish.

How do we handle the booking and payment process?

We offer a 'pay after the workshop' policy for most bookings, giving you total peace of mind. You can book your date through our online system or by chatting with our team. If plans change, we have backup artists ready to step in, so your event in Sheffield is never at risk of cancellation. It's all about making it stress-free!

The experience

Why choose our graffiti program in Sheffield? Because we focus on what people can do, not what they can't. Our workshops provide a unique therapeutic outlet that combines physical movement with visual expression. 🔥

Sensory Engagement: The sound, smell (don't worry, we use masks!), and sight of spray painting provide a rich multi-sensory experience. 🎨
Confidence Building: Seeing a large-scale piece of art come to life provides an immediate sense of accomplishment and pride. 🏆
Fine Motor Skill Development: Controlling the spray cans helps in a fun, non-clinical way with hand-eye coordination. 💪
Tailored Pace: We don't do "one size fits all." We adapt our teaching speed to match every individual participant. ✨
Expert Mentors: Our Sheffield artists aren't just talented; they are patient, encouraging, and experienced in inclusive education. 🎤

Step by step

Initial consultation: Reach out to us to discuss the specific requirements, abilities, and interests of your group so we can tailor the session.
Design session: We start with a gentle introduction to graffiti culture and help participants sketch out simple ideas or 'tags'.
Safety briefing & gear up: Everyone gets fitted with professional masks, gloves, and overalls. Safety is our top priority!
Can control practice: Our artists demonstrate how to hold the spray can and control the pressure for different effects.
Colour selection: Participants choose their favourite vibrant shades from our wide range of professional low-pressure paints.
Creating the masterpiece: With hands-on guidance, the group begins painting their designs on boards or a communal wall.
Adding the details: We help participants add outlines, 'highlights', or 'shadows' to make their artwork pop.
The big reveal & photos: We celebrate the finished work with a group photo session and plenty of cheers!
Easy cleanup: We take care of all the tidying up, leaving you to enjoy the creative glow of the day.

Local culture

Sheffield has a soul made of steel and a skin covered in world-class street art. From the iconic murals around the Kelham Island district to the hidden gems in the Cultural Industries Quarter, the city lives and breathes creativity. Our workshops tap into this local energy, drawing inspiration from Sheffield legends like Phlegm and Kid Acne. We bring that same 'Made in Sheffield' pride to our special needs programmes, ensuring our participants feel connected to the city's thriving urban culture.

Fun fact: Did you know Sheffield is often called the "largest village in England"? It’s this tight-knit community feel that makes it the perfect place for inclusive workshops where everyone supports one another's creative journey. ✨

Pricing

Our Sheffield workshop prices are designed to be affordable and transparent, typically ranging from £25 to £55 per person. The final price depends on the number of participants, the length of the session, and whether we come to you or use one of our local spaces.

We believe in total peace of mind, which is why we offer a pay-after-the-workshop policy. No stress, no risks—just pure creativity!
