How it works

Introduction & Safety: We start with a high-energy intro about street art culture followed by a vital safety briefing and gear fitting.
The Art of the Tag: Students learn the basics of 'tagging'—the foundation of all graffiti—to understand flow and letter structure.
Sketching the Vision: Before hitting the wall, students grab paper and pencils to map out their designs and colour schemes.
Can Control 101: Our artists demonstrate how to hold the can, swap nozzles (caps), and manage pressure for different effects.
Outline & Fill: This is where the magic happens! Students start spraying their outlines and filling them with vibrant colours.
Adding the 'Pop': We teach techniques like highlights, shadows, and 3D effects to make their artwork jump off the surface.
The Masterpiece Reveal: The group steps back to admire their collective work, often taking a big group photo in front of the mural.
Cleanup & Wrap-up: We ensure the site is tidy and have a final chat about what the students learned about teamwork and creativity.

Frequently asked questions

Are the spray paints safe for school students to use?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority for every school event in Leipzig. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, disposable gloves, and protective suits for all students. Our professional artists lead with a 'safety first' briefing, ensuring everyone knows how to handle the spray cans correctly. We almost always work outdoors or in exceptionally well-ventilated spaces to ensure a healthy environment for your young creators to explore their artistic side.

Where in Leipzig do the school workshops take place?

We are incredibly flexible! Graffitifun can host your workshop at one of our dedicated legal graffiti spots in Leipzig, or we can bring the entire studio to your school grounds. If we come to you, we use large mobile plastic walls or canvases to protect your school's property. This mobile setup is perfect for project weeks where you want to keep the activity on-site for logistical ease.

How long does a typical graffiti workshop last?

Most of our educational workshops last between 2 and 3 hours. This provides the perfect balance of theory, practice, and the creation of a final masterpiece. We can also adapt the schedule for full-day project weeks or shorter introductory sessions if you have a tight school timetable. We'll work with you to ensure the timing fits your curriculum goals perfectly.

Do the students need any prior artistic experience?

Don't worry, the kids don't need to be professional illustrators! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. We start with basic tagging and 'throw-up' techniques that anyone can master. Our artists provide hands-on guidance, helping every student build confidence. By the end of the session, even the students who claim they 'can't draw' are usually the ones most proud of their vibrant colourful creations.

What is the minimum age for school participants?

We generally recommend our graffiti workshops for students aged 10 and up (approx. Year 5/6). At this age, they have the physical strength to operate the spray cans and the focus to follow the safety instructions. For secondary schools and vocational colleges in Leipzig, we offer more advanced techniques including stencil cutting and complex colour blending to keep older students fully engaged and challenged.

What happens if it rains on the day of our workshop?

Rain doesn't have to stop the fun! If the weather looks bad, we can often move the workshop to a sheltered outdoor area or use our mobile indoor setup with low-odour water-based paints if the venue allows it. We also have backup artists available to ensure your scheduled school trip isn't cancelled. We always have a 'Plan B' ready so your students aren't disappointed.

What is included in the price per student?

Our pricing for Leipzig schools is transparent and all-inclusive. It covers the professional artist's time, all spray cans, caps, protective gear, and the surfaces we paint on (whether that's a communal wall or individual canvases). Prices typically range from €30 to €65 per student, heavily depending on your group size. We recommend requesting a custom quote so we can give you the best possible rate for your specific school group.
