Is the workshop safe for teenagers?

Safety is our absolute priority. We provide all necessary protective gear, including high-quality FFP2 masks to filter fumes, disposable coveralls to protect clothing, and gloves. Our professional artists lead every session, ensuring tools are used correctly. We typically work in well-ventilated outdoor spaces or dedicated legal spray zones in Leipzig, making the environment safe and enjoyable for all young creators involved.

Do the participants need previous art experience?

Absolutely not! Our youth projects are designed for all skill levels, from total beginners who have never held a spray can to aspiring young artists. Our instructors break down the process into easy-to-follow steps, starting with basic lines and moving to advanced shading. We focus on building confidence and ensuring every participant walks away with a piece of art they are truly proud of.

What materials are included in the youth project package?

We provide everything you need to get creative! This includes a wide range of professional spray paint colours, protective suits, masks, gloves, and drafting materials like caps and markers. Depending on the project, we also provide the 'canvas'—whether that's a professional mobile wall, individual boards, or a legal public space. You just need to show up in old clothes and bring your energy!

How long does a typical youth graffiti session last?

Our standard youth workshops usually run between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a crash course in techniques, sketching, and the final spray session. We can also organise full-day 'intensive' projects or multi-day summer camp sessions if you're looking for a more in-depth artistic experience in the heart of Leipzig.

Where in Leipzig do the workshops take place?

We are very flexible! We can host workshops at various legal street art locations throughout Leipzig, or we can bring the workshop to you. If you have a youth club, school yard, or community centre with an outdoor space, our team can set up mobile graffiti walls. This makes it easy to integrate the project into your local youth programming.

What is the minimum age for participants?

We generally recommend our youth projects for ages 10 and up. At this age, children have the physical dexterity to handle the spray cans and the focus to follow the safety guidelines. We tailor our teaching style to the specific age group, ensuring the content is engaging for younger kids or more 'street-culture' focused for older teenagers.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Graffiti is a weather-dependent activity, but we always have a Plan B. If the forecast looks bad, we can often move to a covered outdoor location or use indoor-safe water-based markers and sketching workshops. Because we have a large team of backup artists in Germany, we are extremely reliable and rarely have to cancel due to staffing issues.

The experience

Why choose our graffiti projects for Leipzig's youth?

Boost self-esteem: Seeing a massive piece of art completed from scratch gives young people a huge sense of accomplishment. 💪
Team synergy: Our 'Big Wall' projects require communication and coordination, perfect for team building.
Safe & legal: We teach the difference between vandalism and street art, providing a safe outlet for expression. 🏆
Professional guidance: Our artists are not just talented; they are mentors who know how to connect with the younger generation.
Everything provided: You don't need to worry about the mess or the gear—we handle the lot from start to finish.
Total flexibility: We work around your schedule, whether it's an after-school programme or a summer holiday camp.

Step by step

Initial spark: Reach out to us with your vision for the youth group, including the number of participants and your preferred dates in Leipzig.
Custom design: Use our Tag Creator online or work with our artists to decide on a theme or mural concept that resonates with the youth.
Safety and gear: On the day, we start with a briefing. Everyone gets suited up in protective gear to keep clothes clean and lungs safe.
The basics: Our pros demonstrate 'can control'—teaching the kids about distance, pressure, and the different 'caps' used for lines.
Sketching it out: Participants sketch their ideas on paper or directly onto the wall using light colours to form the 'skeleton' of their art.
Filling and fading: This is where the magic happens! We teach the youth how to fill in large areas and create cool gradient effects.
The outline: The final touch that makes the art pop. We guide the creators through the 'clean-up' phase to sharpen their work.
Group photo: We celebrate the achievement with a professional photo session in front of the completed masterpiece.
No stress payment: Once the spray paint is dry and everyone is happy, we handle the payment—no upfront deposits needed!

Local culture

Leipzig is often called 'Hypezig' for a reason—its street art scene is absolutely bursting with life! From the massive murals in the Westwerk to the ever-changing walls of the Werk 2 in Connewitz, the city is a living gallery. Our youth projects tap into this local heritage, giving young people a chance to contribute to the city's visual identity in a legal and constructive way. We take inspiration from the gritty, industrial aesthetic of Leipzig's past and the colourful, avant-garde spirit of its present.

Fun Fact: Did you know Leipzig is home to one of Germany's largest legal graffiti walls? This provides the perfect backdrop for our large-scale youth projects!
