Do the participants need any previous art experience?

Absolutely! No prior artistic experience is needed to participate in our Stuttgart youth projects. Our professional artists are expert mentors who break down complex techniques into simple, manageable steps. We focus on the process and the joy of creation rather than perfection. By the end of the session, even those who thought they couldn't draw a straight line will be amazed at the vibrant mural they've helped create.

Is the graffiti workshop safe for teenagers?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits to all participants. We use low-odour professional spray paint and conduct our workshops in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially designated legal graffiti zones. Our artists are trained to supervise groups closely, ensuring everyone follows safety protocols while having a blast. We make sure the environment is structured, controlled, and completely secure for all young people involved.

What should the kids wear to the workshop?

While we provide protective overalls, we always recommend that participants wear 'work clothes'—items they don't mind getting a bit of paint on. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are essential for safety and comfort while standing and painting. Since many of our Stuttgart locations are outdoors near the Neckar or in urban plazas, checking the weather forecast and dressing in layers is a smart move to stay comfortable throughout the session.

How long does a typical youth graffiti session last?

Our standard youth project workshops typically last between 2 and 3 hours. This timeframe is the 'sweet spot'—it’s long enough to cover history, technique, and a full-scale painting project without losing the group's focus or energy. For larger community projects or multi-day youth programmes, we can extend the duration or split the sessions over several days to create more complex, permanent street art installations.

Can you hold the workshop at our local youth centre?

We are incredibly flexible with locations! We can host the workshop at one of our established legal graffiti walls in Stuttgart, or we can bring the experience to your youth centre, school, or sports club. If your venue doesn't have a suitable wall, we can set up mobile wooden panels or use large canvases so the kids can still paint safely and legally without leaving any permanent marks on your property.

How do we handle the payment for the project?

We understand that youth project budgets can be tight, which is why we offer a 'no upfront payment' policy. You only pay after the workshop has been successfully completed and you’re 100% satisfied with the experience. This removes the financial risk and makes the booking process much smoother for community organisers and non-profit groups. If you need a formal invoice for a grant or local council funding, we can handle that easily.

What is the minimum age for participants?

Our youth projects are generally designed for participants aged 10 and up. At this age, they have the physical strength to control the spray cans and the attention span to follow the creative instructions. However, we can adapt our workshops for slightly younger groups using water-based markers or stencils. If you have a mixed-age group in Stuttgart, just let us know, and we will tailor the programme to suit everyone.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti experience for your next youth initiative? It's more than just paint on a wall—it's a catalyst for change. Here’s why Stuttgart’s youth love working with us:

Confidence boost: Seeing a giant mural they helped create gives kids a massive sense of achievement. 🏆
Positive outlet: We channel energy into a legal, constructive, and highly respected art form. 🔥
Teamwork in action: You can't paint a giant piece alone; our projects force participants to communicate and collaborate. ✨
Expert mentorship: Our artists are role models who share their passion and professional journey with the kids. 🎤
Zero risk: With our 'pay after' policy and backup artist guarantee, your project is in safe hands. 💪
Interactive tools: Use our Tag Creator or Cost Calculator online to get the group excited before we even arrive! 🎉

Step by step

Introduction & culture: We start with a high-energy intro about the history of graffiti and how it evolved from NYC streets to Stuttgart's urban landscape.
Safety briefing: Everyone gets geared up! We distribute masks, gloves, and suits while explaining the 'golden rules' of spray painting safely.
Mastering the nozzle: Participants learn 'can control'—practising dots, lines, and fades on practice boards to get a feel for the pressure.
Sketching the vision: The group works together to brainstorm a theme or 'tag' that represents their community or youth group.
Outlining the masterpiece: Our pro artists guide the youth through the first outlines on the large-scale wall or canvas.
Filling with colour: This is the fun part! The kids collaborate to fill in the designs with vibrant colours and gradients.
Adding details & shadows: We teach techniques like 3D effects, 'outer glows', and sharp highlights to make the artwork pop.
The final reveal: We step back to admire the collective work, take group photos, and celebrate the incredible transformation of the space.

From the legendary Hall of Fame at Hallschlag to the hidden gems tucked away in Stuttgart-Ost, the city's street art scene is a testament to its creative soul. Our workshops reflect this local grit and grace, drawing inspiration from the urban landscapes that define the 'Stuttgarter' identity.
