How it works

  1. Introduction & Safety: We kick things off with a warm welcome and a vital safety briefing, including how to use masks and protective gear correctly.
  2. Street Art History: A quick, engaging look at how graffiti evolved from subway tags to world-class gallery art.
  3. Can Control 101: Our pros demonstrate the basics: lines, dots, and how distance from the wall affects your art.
  4. Sketching Your Vision: Participants grab paper and markers to map out their ideas before they touch the spray cans.
  5. Colour Theory & Fills: We teach how to choose bold colour palettes and techniques for smooth, vibrant fills.
  6. Outline & Detail: This is where the magic happens! We show how to add sharp outlines and high-contrast highlights.
  7. Final Touches: Adding those professional 'flairs'—splatters, shadows, and clean-up to make the piece pop.
  8. The Big Reveal: A group photo with the finished masterpiece and a chance to celebrate everyone's hard work!

Frequently asked questions

Do the participants need any prior art experience?

Absolutely! Our Drammen workshops are designed for everyone from total beginners to budding artists. We start with the basics—how to hold the can and control the spray—before moving on to more complex techniques. Our expert instructors provide a safe, encouraging environment where youth can experiment and learn at their own pace without any pressure. It's all about discovering your creative voice while having a blast!

How do you ensure the safety of the young participants?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective overalls to keep everyone clean and safe. Our instructors are professional artists trained in workshop safety protocols. We also ensure we use well-ventilated areas or outdoor spaces. Before the cans even come out, we conduct a full safety briefing to make sure every young artist knows how to handle the equipment responsibly.

How long does a typical youth graffiti workshop last?

A standard youth project workshop in Drammen usually lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a brief history of street art, a demonstration of techniques, and plenty of hands-on spray time. If you have a specific schedule in mind, just let us know! We are flexible and can adapt the duration to fit into a larger community event or school project.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We bring everything! The package includes professional-grade spray paint in a wide range of vibrant colours, caps (nozzles) for different effects, protective gear (masks, gloves, suits), and the surfaces to paint on. Whether we are using high-quality canvases that the kids can take home or a large temporary wall for a collaborative mural, we’ve got it covered. You just need to show up!

Where in Drammen do these workshops take place?

We can host workshops at various locations across Drammen. We often work with local community centres, schools, or outdoor parks. If you have a specific venue in mind, we can usually make it work as long as there is adequate ventilation. If you don't have a space, don't worry—we have a network of locations and can help find the perfect spot for your creative project.

How does the payment process work?

We believe in the quality of our workshops so much that we don't require any upfront payment. You only pay after the workshop is completed and everyone is happy with the experience. This takes the stress out of the booking process for youth leaders and organisers. We accept various payment methods, and we'll send you a clear invoice once the paint has dried and the smiles are out!

Can we choose a specific theme for our mural or project?

Of course! While we help with the technical side, the creative direction is entirely up to the youth. We can focus on a specific theme—like 'The Future of Drammen' or 'Community Spirit'—or let everyone create their own individual masterpiece. Our artists are there to facilitate their vision, helping them turn their rough sketches into bold, colourful reality on the walls.
