Can our guests talk to the artist while they are painting?

While our artists are incredibly focused, they love a bit of interaction! Guests in Savusavu are more than welcome to ask questions about the techniques or the inspiration behind the piece as it develops. It’s part of the 'live' experience, making the art feel more accessible and engaging for everyone at your event. We find this interaction creates a much more memorable atmosphere than just having a static display.

Is the spray paint messy or smelly for an indoor event?

Not at all! Our professional artists use high-quality, low-odour spray paints and drop cloths to ensure your venue stays exactly as we found it. We can work indoors with proper ventilation or outdoors under the Fijian sun. We take care of all the setup and cleanup, so the only thing you're left with is a stunning piece of custom street art and amazing memories.

Can we choose what the artist paints?

Absolutely! Whether it's a corporate logo, a specific theme like 'Fijian Paradise', or a portrait of a guest of honour, we tailor the design to your needs. Before the event, we'll discuss your vision and create a concept that matches your branding or party vibe perfectly. In Savusavu, we love incorporating local elements into the final masterpiece to give it that authentic island feel.

How long does a live painting session usually take?

The duration is flexible! Most live painting performances in Savusavu last between 2 to 4 hours, which usually aligns perfectly with a wedding reception, a corporate dinner, or a brand launch. We can speed up for high-energy sets or take our time for more intricate, larger-than-life murals. Just let us know your event schedule, and we will sync our spray cans to your timeline.

What do I need to provide for the artist?

We provide everything! This includes the canvas or wooden panels, a massive selection of premium spray paint colours, caps, protective floor coverings, and any necessary scaffolding or ladders. If you’re hosting an evening event in Savusavu, all we ask for is a bit of lighting so we can see the canvas clearly. We handle the logistics so you can focus on enjoying the party!

What happens to the painting after the event is over?

Once the paint is dry, the artwork is yours to keep! It’s a fantastic way to commemorate a special day. Many of our Savusavu clients choose to hang the final canvas in their office, shop, or home as a permanent reminder of the celebration. We can even create the piece on multiple smaller canvases that can be auctioned off or given away as unique gifts to your VIP guests.

The experience

Why choose a live painting performance for your Savusavu gathering? It’s the ultimate way to blend entertainment with a tangible keepsake. Here are a few reasons why we’re the top choice for street art in the north:

Interactive atmosphere: Guests aren't just looking at art; they're watching it breathe and grow. It’s a massive conversation starter! 💬
Unique branding: For businesses, we can seamlessly weave your logo or brand colours into the design for an unforgettable marketing moment. 📈
Zero stress booking: With no upfront payment required, you can plan your Savusavu event with total peace of mind.
Backup artists ready: We have a reliable network, meaning your performance will go ahead even if your main artist catches a cold. 🤒
Versatile locations: From the Savusavu Yacht Club to private villas, we can set up almost anywhere. ⛵
High-quality results: You’re not just getting a show; you’re getting a professional-grade piece of art to keep forever. 🏆

Step by step

Initial creative consultation: We chat about your Savusavu event, the vibe you’re going for, and any specific themes or logos you want included in the art. ✨
Custom concept design: Our artists sketch out a rough plan that balances artistic flair with your brand or personal requirements.
On-site setup: We arrive early at your venue to set up the canvas, protect the floors, and organise our toolkit of vibrant spray cans. 🎨
The first strokes: As your guests arrive, the artist begins the 'tagging' or sketching phase, sparking immediate curiosity and conversation. 🔥
Layering and depth: Throughout the event, the painting evolves. Guests see the transition from a blank surface to a complex, multi-layered masterpiece.
Detailing and highlights: In the final hour, the artist adds the sharp details and highlights that make the artwork pop and come to life. 🎤
The big reveal: The finished piece is showcased to the crowd, providing the perfect backdrop for photos and social media moments. 📸
Cleanup and handover: We pack up our gear quickly and cleanly, leaving you with a fresh, dry piece of custom Savusavu street art! 🏆

Good to know

We pride ourselves on making the logistics as smooth as the paint we spray. Here’s the lowdown on the practical side of our Savusavu live art sessions:

Duration: Typically 2 to 4 hours of active painting, though we can adjust to fit your specific event schedule. 🕒
Space requirements: We only need a small footprint (approx. 3x2 metres) and, if possible, a flat surface. Outdoors is great, but indoors works too with a bit of airflow!
Materials included: We bring the canvas, premium non-toxic spray paints, drop cloths, and all protective gear. You don't need to lift a finger. 🛡️
Safety first: Our artists are pros who follow strict safety protocols. We use low-odour paints and ensure the workspace is clearly marked for guest safety.
Group sizes: While this is a performance for hundreds of spectators, we can also offer "add-on" moments where VIPs get to add a stroke or two! 🎨

Local culture

Savusavu isn't just a place; it's a feeling. Known as the "Hidden Paradise" of Vanua Levu, this town is bursting with natural beauty, from the steam rising off the hot springs to the deep blues of the bay. We love bringing live painting here because the local scenery provides endless inspiration. Imagine a street art mural that blends urban graffiti techniques with the lush tropical flora or the legendary hibiscus flowers of Fiji! 🌺

While Savusavu has a deep-rooted history in traditional Fijian crafts and woodcarving, the introduction of modern live painting adds an exciting new layer to the local creative scene. It's a fantastic way to celebrate the Pacific's evolving art culture right here on the waterfront. 🛳️

Fun Fact: Did you know Savusavu is famous for its thermal activity? While we can't paint with volcanic steam, the vibrant heat of our spray-painted colours certainly matches the town's energetic spirit! 🌋

Pricing

Every event in Savusavu is unique, from the location to the size of the canvas! Because our live painting performances are fully customised to your needs, we don't have a "one-size-fits-all" price tag. Whether you want a small accent piece or a massive mural, we'll work with you to make it happen.
