What exactly is live painting and how does it work?

Live painting is a performance-based art form where a professional graffiti artist creates a large-scale mural from scratch in front of an audience. In Waterford, this is a massive hit at festivals and corporate events because it provides ongoing entertainment and a stunning visual result. Your guests get to see the process, from the first sketch to the final highlight, making them feel part of the creative journey.

Is it safe to have live painting indoors at a venue?

Safety is our top priority! We use low-odour, professional-grade spray paint and high-quality acrylics. For indoor events in Waterford, we ensure proper ventilation or use water-based markers and spray cans specifically designed for indoor use. We also provide floor protection and screens to keep your venue pristine while the art comes to life. Our artists are fully insured and follow strict safety protocols.

Can we choose what the artist paints?

Absolutely! The best part about our live painting service is the personalisation. We can incorporate your company logo, event theme, specific colours, or even 'Easter eggs' relevant to your group. Before the event in Waterford, we'll chat about your vision and create a concept that aligns perfectly with your brand or the vibe of your celebration. It’s custom art tailored specifically for you.

How long does a live painting session usually take?

Every event is different, but a typical live painting performance lasts between 2 and 5 hours. We can scale the complexity of the piece to fit your schedule. If you’re hosting a quick brand activation in the city centre, we can do a high-impact 'speed' piece. For longer festivals or corporate galas, the artist can take their time to create an intricate masterpiece.

Do I need to provide any materials for the artist?

Not at all! We bring everything needed for the performance. This includes the artist’s kit, spray cans, drop cloths, and the 'canvas' itself—whether that’s a professional mobile wall, large wooden panels, or even a vehicle. All we need from you is a designated space and a bit of lighting so the audience can see the magic happen. We handle the setup and the cleanup.

What happens to the mural once it is finished?

Once the event is over, the artwork is yours to keep! Many of our Waterford clients choose to display the finished piece in their office, school, or community centre as a permanent reminder of the day. If the piece was painted on panels, it’s easy to transport. It’s not just a performance; it’s a lasting investment in a unique piece of contemporary street art.

How do I book a live painting artist in Waterford?

Booking is simple! Since every event in Waterford is unique, we recommend reaching out via our contact form for a custom quote. We’ll discuss your date, venue, and creative ideas. Because we have a team of backup artists, you never have to worry about a cancellation. We don't require upfront payment; you pay after the masterpiece is complete and you’re 100% happy!
