Is the graffiti workshop safe for primary school children?

Safety is our absolute number one priority. We provide all primary school students with high-quality protective gear, including professional-grade masks, disposable gloves, and full-body overalls to keep their clothes clean. Our workshops take place in well-ventilated outdoor areas or legal graffiti walls in Plzen. Furthermore, our instructors are highly experienced in managing large groups of children, ensuring everyone uses the spray cans correctly and stays within the designated painting zones.

Do the students need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for complete beginners. Our professional artist instructors start with a clear safety briefing and a 'how-to' demonstration. They guide the kids through basic techniques, from holding the can to creating clean lines and shadows. By the time they reach the final communal mural, every student will feel like a confident street artist. It is all about the joy of discovery and trying something new!

What should the children wear to the workshop?

We recommend that students wear comfortable, 'old' clothing and sturdy shoes. Even though we provide full-body protective overalls and gloves, graffiti can sometimes be a bit messy, and paint has a funny way of finding gaps! It’s best to wear things you don't mind getting a tiny bit of colour on. We’ll take care of the rest, including all the professional spray paint and safety equipment.

Where in Plzen do the workshops take place?

Ideally, we run our Plzen workshops at outdoor legal graffiti walls to give the most authentic experience. However, we are very flexible! If your school has a suitable outdoor space or a very well-ventilated covered area, we can often come to you. If the weather turns sour, we have backup plans and can adjust the schedule or use alternative materials to ensure the kids still get their creative fix!

How long does a typical school session last?

A standard primary school workshop usually lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for the introduction, a safety briefing, some practice runs on individual boards, and the creation of a large-scale group masterpiece. We find this timeframe is perfect for keeping primary-aged children engaged and excited without them getting overtired. We can also tailor the duration to fit into your specific school timetable.

Do the kids get to keep what they create?

We offer two main options for schools. Students can work together on a massive, collaborative mural on a legal wall or a large plastic stretch-wrap, which creates a fantastic sense of teamwork. Alternatively, we can arrange for students to paint their own individual wooden boards or canvases that they can take home or display in the school hallway. Let us know which style suits your lesson plan best!

Can this workshop be linked to the school curriculum?

Absolutely! While many schools book us for a one-off 'experience day', we can easily integrate the workshop into your curriculum. Whether you are studying modern art, urban geography, or even 'British Street Art vs Czech Culture', we can tailor our talk to include educational elements. It’s a brilliant way to make abstract art concepts feel real, tangible, and incredibly exciting for the younger generation.

The experience

Why choose a Graffitifun workshop for your primary school in Plzen? Because we make art feel like an adventure! Our sessions aren't just about painting; they're about building confidence and teaching kids that it's okay to express themselves in big, bold ways.

Boosts teamwork: Collaborative murals require students to communicate and work together to achieve a massive goal. 🤝
Safe environment: We take care of all the safety protocols so teachers can relax and enjoy the transformation.
Unleashes hidden talent: Many kids who struggle with traditional drawing find their voice with the free-flowing movement of spray art. 🎨
Memorable learning: This isn't just another lesson; it’s a 'core memory' that students will talk about for years.
Professional vibes: Our artists aren't just teachers—they are real-world creators who live and breathe street art. 🎤
No-stress planning: We provide everything! No need for the school to buy supplies or worry about the mess.

Beyond our school workshops, we also offer exciting experiences for kids parties, festivals, company events, and even brand activations. If you're looking for an adult-only celebration, check out our bachelor parties or general school workshops for older students!

Step by step

Intro & safety first: We kick things off with a high-energy intro and equip every student with masks, gloves, and overalls.
The gear guide: Our artists explain how spray cans work, from different 'caps' for different line widths to the right 'shake' technique.
First lines: Kids start on a practice surface, learning how to control the pressure and move their arms to create smooth shapes. ✨
Sketching the plan: We help the group brainstorm a theme—maybe the school mascot or a 'Cool Plzen' tribute—and sketch the outlines.
Filling in the colour: This is where the magic happens! Students work together to fill in the large areas using a vibrant palette of colours. 🔥
Detailed 'cutting': Our instructors show the kids how to add those professional-looking outlines and highlights to make the art pop.
The finishing touches: We add 'bubbles', 'stars', or 'drips'—the classic graffiti elements that give the work its final character.
The big reveal: We step back as a group to admire the masterpiece, take plenty of photos, and talk about what everyone learned. 📸
Tidy up time: We ensure the area is spotless and help the kids get out of their gear, leaving only the art behind!

Local culture

Plzen might be world-famous for its golden lager, but its street art scene is brewing something equally exciting! From the colourful murals near the Mže river to the creative hubs popping up in the industrial districts, Plzen is the perfect backdrop for a budding artist. The city has a long history of craftsmanship and innovation, and our workshops tap into that local spirit. We often take inspiration from local legends or the iconic architecture of Republic Square to help the kids connect their art with their home city.

Fun Fact: Did you know Plzen was the European Capital of Culture in 2015? This legacy lives on in the city's love for public art and creative workshops like ours! 🎨

In addition to our Plzen sessions, we also bring the spray paint magic to other major hubs! If you have partner schools in Prague, Brno, Ostrava, or Liberec, we can coordinate multi-city art projects to bring everyone together.
