The experience
Why choose a Graffitifun workshop for your Johannesburg high school? It's more than just a fun day out—it's a powerful educational tool that connects with students on their level.
- Epic self-expression: Let students ditch the pens and grab a can to express their identity in a bold, colourful way. ✨
- Professional Art Mentors: Our "OG" artists don't just teach; they inspire, sharing stories of the Joburg street art scene. 🎤
- Stress Relief: Spray painting is incredibly cathartic—the perfect break from the pressure of exams and tests. 🧘♂️
- Team Spirit: Nothing brings a class together like collaborating on a massive 10-meter mural for the school quad. 🏆
- Zero Risk Booking: With no upfront payment and our backup artist guarantee, your school event is in safe hands. 💪

Step by step
- Introduction & Safety: We kick things off with a high-energy intro to the world of graffiti and a vital safety briefing on how to use our gear.
- Concept School Design: Learners brainstorm themes—ranging from school pride to social justice—sketching out their initial ideas on paper.
- Can control basics: Our pros demonstrate "can control," teaching students how to create thin lines, fat drips, and smooth gradients.
- Tagging & Lettering: Students practice the art of the "tag" and develop their own unique street art alias and lettering style.
- Outline & Fill: It is time to go big! Learners start outlining their main designs on the panels or wall, followed by vibrant colour filling.
- Shadows & 3D effects: We teach the tricks of the trade, adding shadows and 3D depth to make the artwork pop off the surface.
- The highlight: Students add those crisp "power lines" and final highlights that bring the entire piece to life.
- Group Review & Photos: We finish with a "gallery walk" where students present their work, followed by a professional group photo session.

Local culture
Street art in Johannesburg
Johannesburg is the undisputed street art capital of South Africa. From the towering murals of Maboneng to the iconic graffiti-covered pillars of Newtown, our city breathes creativity. Our workshops tap into this local "Jozi" spirit, teaching learners about the history of South African street art and how it has shaped our urban landscape. We don't just teach art; we teach cultural heritage in a way that resonates with the 'Ama2000' generation.
Fun Fact: Did you know that some of Africa's largest murals are located right here in Johannesburg? The city hosts international street art festivals that turn entire skyscrapers into canvases!
