Is the graffiti workshop safe for individuals with special needs?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority in Takoradi. We use high-quality, low-odour water-based spray paints where necessary, and we provide all participants with protective gear including masks, gloves, and aprons. Our artists are trained to supervise the environment closely, ensuring everyone can express themselves in a secure, controlled, and supportive space tailored to their specific needs and comfort levels.

Can the workshop be held at our own location in Takoradi?

We are incredibly flexible! Whether you have a specific indoor hall in Takoradi or want to host it at an outdoor community centre, we can make it work. We use protective floor coverings and plastic sheeting to ensure zero mess is left behind. If you don't have a venue, let us know—we can often suggest accessible local spots that are perfect for a creative session.

How long does a typical session last?

Our typical special needs workshops last between 1.5 to 2 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining engagement and energy without causing overstimulation or fatigue. However, we are happy to adjust the timing—including adding more frequent breaks—to suit the attention spans and physical requirements of your specific group. It’s all about going at your own pace!

Do participants need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels, especially for those who have never held a spray can before. Our professional artists use a 'step-by-step' approach, helping participants with easy techniques like filling shapes and creating simple patterns. The goal isn't perfection; it's about the joy of movement, colour, and tactile creation in a stress-free environment.

What happens if the artist is unavailable on the day?

Graffitifun is proud of our reliability. We have a large network of professional artists across Ghana, which means we always have backup artists on standby. If your scheduled instructor is unwell, we dispatch a replacement to ensure your event in Takoradi goes ahead as planned. You can book with total confidence knowing we won't let your group down.

Do participants get to keep what they create?

We believe in the power of creative freedom! While we often start with a group 'masterpiece' where everyone contributes to a large mural, we also provide individual canvases or boards. This allows every participant to take home their own unique piece of street art as a proud memento of their achievement and a reminder of their creative potential.

How do we handle the payment and booking?

Getting a quote is easy and transparent. Because every special needs group has different requirements regarding group size and support levels, we provide bespoke pricing. Simply fill out our contact form or use our online Cost Calculator. The best part? There is no upfront payment required—you only pay after the workshop has been successfully completed and everyone is happy!

Step by step

Initial consultation: Reach out to us to discuss the specific needs and abilities of your group so we can tailor the session.
Site preparation: Our team arrives early in Takoradi to set up protective coverings and prepare the canvases or walls.
The warm-up: We start with a friendly introduction to the tools, focusing on the sensory experience of the spray cans.
Concept sketching: Participants use markers or chalk to outline simple shapes, guided by our professional artists.
First layers: We dive into the colour! Everyone learns how to press the nozzle and move their arms to fill in the designs.
Adding detail: For those who want a challenge, we show how to add highlights, shadows, or "splatter" effects for extra flair.
The big reveal: We take a moment to step back and admire the collective work of art—a real confidence-boosting moment!
Photo session: We capture high-quality photos of the group with their vibrant creations to share with friends and family.
Clean-up & pack-down: We handle all the clearing up, leaving the space exactly as we found it, but much more colourful!
