How long does a typical youth graffiti workshop last?

Our youth projects in Takoradi typically span between 2 to 3 hours. This allows enough time for a proper introduction to the history of street art, a safety briefing, technique practice on plastic walls, and the creation of the final masterpiece. For larger community projects or mural designs, we can also arrange full-day sessions or multi-day programmes to dive deeper into the creative process and skill-building.

Is the workshop safe for teenagers and children?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, protective gloves, and overall suits to keep everyone safe and clean. Our instructors are professional artists who are experienced in managing groups of young people, ensuring that the spray cans are used responsibly and that the environment remains a positive, secure space for everyone involved.

Do participants need prior artistic experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Whether a participant is a natural-born artist or has never held a spray can before, our mentors guide them through the basics of 'tagging', 'throwing', and 'shading'. We focus on the 'fun' in Graffitifun, making sure every young person feels proud of what they’ve created by the end of the session.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We provide everything you need! This includes a wide range of professional spray paint colours, caps (nozzles), protective gear, and the surfaces to paint on. We often use portable cellophane 'stretch walls' which allow us to set up a workshop almost anywhere in Takoradi without leaving a permanent mark, though we can also work on boards or canvases if requested.

Can you host the workshop at our local youth centre?

We are very flexible! While we have our own preferred outdoor spots in Takoradi, we are happy to come to your youth centre, school, or sports club. As long as there is an outdoor space with good ventilation and permission to be there, we can bring the Graffitifun experience directly to your doorstep. We even have a back-up artist system to ensure your event never gets cancelled.

How do we handle payment for the youth project?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our 'no cure, no pay' philosophy. You don't have to pay anything upfront! We believe in the quality of our workshops and the smiles on the kids' faces. You simply book the date, we bring the energy and the art, and payment is settled only once the workshop has been successfully completed. It’s totally risk-free for your organisation.

What are the educational benefits of a graffiti workshop?

Street art is a fantastic tool for personal growth. It encourages self-expression, boosts confidence, and teaches the importance of patience and planning. For youth in Takoradi, it’s also a great way to foster community pride and teamwork. Working together on a large-scale piece helps young people develop communication skills while channelling their energy into something positive and visually stunning.

Local culture

Takoradi, with its bustling harbour and energetic street life, is the perfect backdrop for a graffiti revolution. From the vibrant atmosphere of Market Circle to the artistic pulse of the annual masquerade festival, the city is already alive with colour and movement. Our workshops tap into this local 'Taadi' pride, encouraging young people to add their own modern chapter to the city's rich visual history.

Fun Fact: Did you know Takoradi is often called 'the Twin City' because it joined with Sekondi? Our youth projects often reflect this 'unity' theme, bringing different groups together to create a single, massive piece of art that represents the combined spirit of the local community! 🎨
