Do the participants need any previous art experience?

Absolutely! Our youth projects in Obuasi are designed specifically for beginners. Our professional street artists start with the basics, teaching safe spray can handling, nozzle control, and simple lettering techniques. We create a supportive environment where making mistakes is just part of the creative process. By the end of the session, even those who have never held a can before will be amazed at the masterpiece they've helped create.

What safety measures are in place during the workshop?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide all necessary protective gear, including high-quality FFP2 masks, gloves, and disposable overalls to keep clothes clean. Our instructors are experienced professionals who provide a comprehensive safety briefing before any paint is sprayed. We also ensure our Obuasi workshops take place in well-ventilated outdoor or semi-outdoor spaces to ensure maximum airflow and comfort for everyone involved.

How long does a typical youth graffiti session last?

Most of our youth graffiti workshops in Obuasi last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives the group plenty of time to learn the techniques, sketch their ideas, and complete a large-scale project without feeling rushed. If you have a specific timeframe in mind for a community event or youth club schedule, just let us know! We can easily adapt the program to fit your specific needs.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We bring everything! Graffitifun provides premium low-pressure spray cans (which are easier for beginners to control), a wide variety of caps for different line widths, protective gear, and the painting surfaces. Whether we are painting on a permanent wall with permission or using our professional professional mobile foil walls, we handle the logistics so you can focus on the fun and creativity.

Do you offer workshops in other Ghanaian cities?

Yes, we do! While we love visiting Obuasi, we also host youth projects and graffiti workshops in Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, and Takoradi. We are committed to bringing high-quality street art experiences to young people across Ghana. If you are located in a different region, simply reach out to us, and we will do our best to bring our artists to your local community.

How does this benefit the local youth community?

One of the best things about graffiti is its ability to build teamwork. Our youth projects often involve a 'big mural' concept where everyone contributes to a single, massive piece of art. This requires communication, planning, and supporting one another’s creative choices. It’s a fantastic way to break down social barriers, boost confidence, and give young people a sense of collective pride in their local Obuasi neighbourhood.

How do I handle booking and payment?

We offer total flexibility with our 'pay after the workshop' policy. You don't need to worry about upfront costs or deposits. Once the project is completed and you are 100% satisfied with the experience, we handle the payment. We also have a reliable network of backup artists available, so you never have to worry about a session being cancelled last minute due to unforeseen circumstances.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next youth project? It's the ultimate way to engage kids who might not enjoy traditional "sit-down" art classes. Here is why our Obuasi sessions are a hit:

Boosts Self-Esteem: Seeing a 10-foot mural you helped create provides an incredible sense of accomplishment. ✨
Total Inclusion: Graffiti doesn't care about your grades or your background; everyone starts with a blank canvas.
Skill Development: Learn everything from colour theory to fine motor skills and spatial awareness. 🔥
Teamwork in Action: Participants must collaborate to ensure their individual pieces fit into the larger community mural.
Stress Relief: Testing out a spray can is a fantastic, cathartic way for teens to let off steam in a safe environment.
Professional Mentors: Our artists aren't just teachers; they are role models who show that creativity can be a career! 🎤

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: We start with an energetic welcome and a vital safety briefing on how to use the equipment responsibly.
Graffiti History: A quick, engaging talk about the roots of street art and its transition from the streets to the galleries.
Sketching Your Vision: Participants grab paper and markers to draft their tags and designs, planning their contribution to the mural.
Nozzle & Can Control: Our artists demonstrate how to hold the can, switch caps, and manage pressure for thin lines or fat fills.
Outline & Fill: This is where the magic happens! The youth begin applying their designs to the wall using professional techniques.
Shadows & Highlights: We teach how to make art 'pop' by adding 3D effects, outlines, and highlights that bring the work to life.
The Final Flourish: The group works together to clean up edges and add those final details that make the mural look professional.
Photo Session: We celebrate the achievement with a group photo in front of the finished masterpiece – a perfect memory of the day!
