Is the graffiti workshop truly accessible for all types of disabilities?

Absolutely! Our Obuasi workshops are designed with inclusivity at their core. We use low-pressure spray cans that are easier to handle for those with limited grip strength, and we can provide wearable protective gear that is comfortable for sensory-sensitive participants. Our artists are trained to adapt their teaching style on the fly, ensuring everyone feels supported and successful regardless of their specific physical or cognitive needs.✨

How do you handle safety during the special needs workshops?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality masks, gloves, and protective suits to ensure no one gets messy or inhales fumes. We also select spacious, well-ventilated outdoor or indoor locations in Obuasi to ensure a comfortable environment. Our professional artists supervise the use of all materials closely, and we always have a first-aid trained team member available to ensure a worry-free experience for everyone involved.🛡️

What steps are taken to support participants with sensory sensitivities?

We understand that for some individuals, new environments can be overwhelming. That is why we provide a 'quiet zone' if requested and keep the music at a comfortable level. Our 'tag creator' tool is also a great way for participants to practice digitally before they ever touch a spray can, helping to build confidence and reduce any anxiety about the creative process. We move at your pace, always.🎨

How long does a typical workshop session last?

Our standard special needs sessions in Obuasi typically last between 1.5 to 2 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining high energy and focus without causing fatigue. However, we are completely flexible! If your group needs more frequent breaks or a shorter, high-impact session, we can easily customise the timeline to suit the specific energy levels and requirements of your participants. graftifi is all about flow!

Do participants need any prior art experience or skills?

Not at all! Many of our most talented participants have never held a spray can before. Our skilled artists teach the basics from scratch—from how to hold the can and control the pressure to creating shapes and shadows. It is a fantastic way to develop fine motor skills and explore a new hobby in a judgment-free zone. Everyone leaves with a piece of art they can be proud of!🏆

What is the booking process and do we need to pay upfront?

We make the booking process as stress-free as possible. You don't need to pay anything upfront; you only pay after the workshop is completed and you are 100% satisfied. Simply request a quote through our website, and we will handle the logistics. We even have backup artists available to ensure that your event in Obuasi goes ahead exactly as planned, no matter what happens!🔥

Spray can basics: We demonstrate simple techniques—like making dots, lines, and fades—using specially selected easy-to-use cans.
First strokes: Participants start practicing on their canvases with one-on-one guidance from our professional street artists.
Filling & detail: We move on to adding vibrant colours and 'fills', helping everyone bring their masterpiece to life.
The final outline: Our artists help add those sharp finishing touches that make the artwork pop and look professional.

Local culture

Obuasi is a city built on resilience and brilliance, known worldwide for its rich gold mining heritage. But beyond the mines, there is a pulse of creativity waiting to be tapped! The local culture in Obuasi is full of colour and rhythm, making it the perfect backdrop for a graffiti explosion. We love bringing our workshops here because the community spirit is so strong. Our sessions often draw inspiration from the vibrant local textiles and the bold spirit of the Ashanti people.
