How long does a typical youth graffiti workshop last?

Our youth projects in Sunyani typically last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives the participants enough time to learn the basic strokes, practice their hand styles, and complete a large-scale collaborative mural. If you have a specific schedule or a full-day youth event in mind, we can certainly adapt the timing to fit your needs perfectly. Just let us know your requirements!

Do participants need previous art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to those with a creative spark. Our professional artists guide the youth through every step, starting with simple lines and moving up to complex fills and outlines. It’s all about building confidence and having fun with the medium, regardless of prior artistic experience or 'talent'.

Is the paint safe for young people to use?

Absolutely. Safety is our top priority at Graffitifun. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective overalls to all participants. Our spray paints are selected for their safety standards, and our instructors provide a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a can. We ensure a controlled environment where the focus remains entirely on creativity and positive expression.

Where do the workshops take place in Sunyani?

We can hold workshops at your youth centre, school grounds, or a designated public space in Sunyani. If you don't have a location, we can help source a suitable outdoor spot or provide mobile wooden panels that can be set up almost anywhere. As long as there is good ventilation (outdoors is best) and permission to paint, we are ready to go!

What is the minimum age for participants?

We generally recommend our graffiti youth projects for ages 10 and up. This is mainly because the spray cans require a certain amount of finger strength and coordination to operate effectively. However, for slightly younger groups, we can often adapt the session using markers or water-based alternatives. Feel free to contact us to discuss the specific age range of your group.

What should the participants wear to the workshop?

Comfortable, casual clothing is best! While we provide protective overalls, we always suggest wearing 'art clothes'—things you wouldn't mind getting a tiny splash of paint on, just in case. Closed-toe shoes or trainers are a must for safety. We’ll take care of all the specialized gear like masks and gloves so the kids can focus on their masterpieces.

How does the payment process work?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our flexibility. You don't need to pay everything upfront! We believe in the quality of our service, so you can pay after the workshop is completed. This ensures you are 100% satisfied with the experience we've provided for your youth group before the final transaction is made. It's all about trust and great art.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your youth project in Sunyani? Because it speaks a language young people actually want to hear! It’s the ultimate mix of discipline and rebellion, guided by professionals. 🔥

Active participation: No one sits on the sidelines—everyone gets a can in their hand from the start!
Team building: Creating a collaborative mural teaches communication and shared vision. 🤝
Skill development: Improve motor skills, spatial awareness, and creative thinking.
Positive expression: We turn 'vandalism' into a constructive art form that respects the community.
Zero stress booking: No upfront payment and backup artists ready to go, so your event never fails. 🏆

Step by step

Intro and safety: We kick things off with a high-energy intro and a vital safety briefing to keep everyone protected. ✨
Sketching ideas: Participants grab paper and pens to brainstorm their nicknames, tags, or a group theme for the mural.
Can control basics: Our artists demonstrate how to hold the can, control pressure, and create different line widths.
Practice session: Everyone gets their own space on a practice wall to get a feel for the spray paint without pressure. 🎨
Creating the outline: We move to the main surface where the youth start sketching their designs in large scale.
Filling with colour: This is where the magic happens! Participants learn blending and filling techniques to make the art pop. 🌈
The final outline: Our pros help the group add sharp outlines and highlights to give the graffiti that professional look.
Photo op: Once the masterpiece is finished, we take group photos to celebrate the hard work and creativity! 📸
Clean up: We pack up all materials, leaving the site tidy and the participants with a huge sense of pride.

Our graffiti sessions are built around quality and safety. We provide professional-grade spray cans, specialised low-pressure nozzles for easier control, and full protective gear including masks, gloves, and overalls. 🧤

Local culture

Sunyani is known for its lush greenery and academic spirit, being a hub for students and young thinkers. Our youth projects tap into this vibrant energy, offering a creative contrast to the traditional classroom. We love seeing how the local culture and the natural beauty of the Bono Region influence the colours and themes the kids choose—often blending modern street styles with local flair. 🎨

Fun fact: Sunyani is often cited as one of the cleanest cities in Ghana! We respect that reputation by using mobile canvases or designated legal walls, ensuring our creativity adds to the city's beauty without leaving a mess where it shouldn't be.
