Do we need to be good at drawing to participate?

No artistic experience is required at all! Our Sunyani university workshops are designed for complete beginners. Our professional graffiti artists will guide you through everything from basic 'can control' to advanced layering techniques. By the end of the session, you'll be amazed at what you and your friends have created on the canvas or wall. It’s all about having fun and socialising!

How long does a typical university workshop last?

A standard university workshop in Sunyani typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives your group enough time to learn the history of street art, practice different spray techniques, and complete a final masterpiece. We can also adjust the timing if you are running a larger campus event or festival and need shorter 'drop-in' sessions for students.

Is the spray paint safe and what protective gear is provided?

Your safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, disposable gloves, and protective suits to ensure no paint gets on your clothes. Our spray paints are low-odour and we always conduct workshops in well-ventilated outdoor spaces or large indoor halls. Our instructors are also trained to manage large groups safely and professionally throughout the entire event.

Do we need to pay a deposit in advance?

Currently, we do not require any upfront payment or deposits for our workshops in Sunyani. You can book your date and confirm the details with us, and payment is only handled after the workshop is successfully completed. We believe in our service so much that we want you to be 100% satisfied with the experience before any money changes hands!

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We provide everything you need to get creative! This includes premium spray cans in a huge variety of colours, protective gear (suits, masks, gloves), and the 'canvases'—which could be professional plastic film walls, wooden boards, or even a permanent wall if you have permission. You just need to bring your energy and some old shoes you don't mind getting dusty!

Can we paint a permanent mural on our campus?

Absolutely! Many universities in Sunyani hire us to create a permanent mural on campus as part of the workshop. We can design a piece that incorporates the university's logos, mission, or student values, and then have the students help paint it under our guidance. It’s a fantastic way to leave a lasting, colourful legacy on your campus walls.

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?

Sunyani weather is usually great, but if it rains, we have backup plans. We can move the workshop under a large canopy, into a well-ventilated hall, or reschedule to a different time. Because we have multiple artists on standby, we are very flexible with timing. We will always work with your student union to find the best solution for the weather.

Safety first: Get geared up in your protective suits, masks, and gloves.
Sketching ideas: Grab a marker and brainstorm your designs on paper before hitting the wall.
The first spray: Learn 'can control'—how to hold the spray can and create clean lines.
Filling and fading: Our artists show you how to blend colours and fill in your shapes smoothly.
Outlining: This is where the magic happens! Add sharp outlines to make your art pop.
Adding highlights: Learn the professional 'shine' techniques that give graffiti its 3D look.
The finishing touches: Add 'tags' and details to personalise your group's masterpiece.
Photo session: Pose with your crew in front of your finished street art for the gram!

Local culture

Sunyani, often called the "Green City" of Ghana, is known for its clean streets and vibrant academic life, thanks to institutions like UENR and Sunyani Technical University. While the city is famous for its cocoa and timber, there is a growing appetite for modern urban art. By bringing a graffiti workshop to your Sunyani campus, you are helping to bridge the gap between traditional Ghanaian culture and contemporary global street art. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know Sunyani is considered one of the cleanest cities in West Africa? We make sure our workshops keep it that way by using protective flooring and eco-conscious practices, ensuring we only leave beauty behind, not a mess! 🌿
