Do I need previous graffiti experience to join the training?

No prior spray paint experience is necessary to join our art teacher training in Garissa. We designed this professional development course to take you from a complete beginner to a confident street art instructor. Our Graffitifun experts will guide you through the basics of nozzle control and safety before moving on to advanced mural techniques, ensuring you feel comfortable regardless of your current artistic background.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything you need for a successful session in Garissa. This includes high-quality spray cans in a vast array of colours, various nozzles (caps) for different effects, protective gloves, masks, and coveralls to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the practice surfaces and educational handbooks. You just need to bring your enthusiasm and wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a little dusty!

Is graffiti art actually suitable for a school environment?

Absolutely! Graffiti is a fantastic tool for reaching students who might feel disconnected from traditional fine arts. It promotes fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and creative problem-solving. During the training, we specifically discuss how to adapt these techniques for different age groups in Garissa schools, ensuring the projects are both safe and highly engaging for your pupils.

How long does the professional development session take?

The core teacher training usually lasts between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the depth of the curriculum you choose. However, we are very flexible and can tailor the timing to fit into your professional development day or weekend schedule. We aim to provide a comprehensive experience that covers theory, safety, and plenty of hands-on practice without feeling rushed.

What safety measures do you have in place for spray painting?

Safety is our absolute priority. We use low-pressure cans that are easier to control and provide high-quality FFP2 or FFP3 masks to ensure no fumes are inhaled. We also conduct the workshops in well-ventilated outdoor areas or large open spaces in Garissa. Our instructors are trained in site safety and will teach you exactly how to manage a group of students safely.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the training?

Yes, upon successful completion of the Graffitifun Art Teacher Training, you will receive a digital certificate of participation. This serves as a great addition to your professional portfolio and proves that you have undergone training in modern street art techniques and safety protocols. Local schools in Garissa often value this unique skill set for their creative arts departments.

How do I book a session for my department and what are the terms?

Booking is simple and risk-free with Graffitifun. You can request a quote through our website based on your staff size. We don't require upfront payments; you only pay after the workshop has been successfully delivered. If you need to reschedule, our team is happy to help find a new date that works for your Garissa-based educational institution.

Local culture

Garissa is a city full of unexpected colour and resilient spirit, making it the perfect backdrop for a street art revolution. While the city's architecture is traditionally functional, there is a growing appreciation for visual storytelling that reflects the local culture and the beauty of the surrounding landscapes. By bringing graffiti art to Garissa's schools, you are helping to build a new visual identity for the youth in the region.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Garissa is known for its incredible proximity to diverse wildlife? Drawing inspiration from the local giraffes and birdlife at the nearby sanctuaries is a favourite theme for many of our "nature-meets-urban" mural projects! 🦒

Our workshops respect the local environment while encouraging students to express their aspirations through bold, public-facing art. Let's turn those plain school walls into canvases of hope and creativity!
