Do I need prior graffiti experience to join the teacher training?

Absolutely! Our graffiti teacher training in Eldoret is designed for educators of all skill levels. You don't need to be a professional artist or have used a spray can before. We start with the absolute basics of nozzle control and safety, before moving into more complex techniques. By the end of the session, you'll have the technical confidence and the teaching framework to lead your own creative street art classes.

How do you handle safety and health concerns with spray paint?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide all participants with high-quality FFP3 respiratory masks, protective gloves, and overalls. During the training, we'll teach you how to set up a safe workspace for your students, including proper ventilation outdoors and how to manage group dynamics to ensure everyone stays safe while having a blast with the spray cans.

How long does the professional development session last?

Eldoret sessions typically last between 2.5 to 4 hours. This gives us enough time to cover the history of the movement, master the technical skills, and discuss the pedagogical side of street art. We focus on a hands-on approach, so you'll spend most of the time actually painting and practicing the methods you'll later use with your own pupils.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We provide everything! Your session includes professional-grade spray paint, various nozzles (caps), protective gear, and practice surfaces. We also provide digital resources and a curriculum guide that you can take back to your school or community group in Uasin Gishu. Just wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of paint on—just in case!

How does graffiti benefit the standard school curriculum?

Street art is an incredible tool for engagement. It helps students develop fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and confidence. Beyond the art itself, it's a great way to discuss social issues, local culture, and the difference between vandalism and commissioned public art. It’s particularly effective for reaching students who might feel disconnected from traditional, academic art styles or formal classroom settings.

Can you host the training at our specific school or office?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our flexibility. We can come to your school or community centre in Eldoret, or we can arrange a dedicated outdoor location. If you have a suitable wall, we can use that; otherwise, we bring mobile practice walls. We’re all about making it as easy as possible for you to get this creative training started.

Is there an upfront payment required for the booking?

We keep things simple and stress-free. You don't have to pay anything upfront when booking your training. We want you to be 100% satisfied with the plan first. Payment is only required after the workshop has been completed. This ensures you get exactly the high-quality professional development experience you were looking for without any financial risk.

The experience

Why choose graffiti for your next professional development day? It's simple: nothing engages students quite like the "forbidden" thrill of spray paint, and we show you how to harness that energy constructively. Here is why our training stands out in Eldoret:

Fresh engagement: Learn how to connect with "harder to reach" students through a medium they actually find exciting and relevant. 🔥
Complete toolkit: We don't just teach you how to paint; we give you the lesson plans and safety protocols to teach others.
Stress-free booking: With no upfront costs and a 100% fun guarantee, your department budget is in safe hands.
Local expertise: Our artists understand the Kenyan art scene and how to integrate local culture into contemporary street art. 🇰🇪
Confidence boost: Even if you think you "can't draw," our techniques will have you creating professional-looking murals in hours.
Team building: It's a fantastic way for your staff to bond, laugh, and get messy together! 🏆

Step by step

Introduction to the culture: We start by diving into the history of street art and its evolution into a respected global art form, giving you the context needed for classroom discussions.
Gear and safety briefing: Learn about the different types of spray paint, the importance of various nozzles (caps), and how to use protective equipment properly.
Mastering nozzle control: Practice the foundational movements—lines, dots, and fades—to gain confidence with the pressure of the spray can.
Lettering and style: Our pro artists guide you through creating your first 'piece', teaching you about 'throw-ups', 'tags', and 3D effects.
The pedagogical approach: We discuss how to break these steps down for different age groups, ensuring your future lessons are structured and successful.
Collaborative mural project: Work together with other teachers on a large-scale piece to experience the power of collective art-making first-hand.
Feedback and certification: Review the work created and discuss assessment strategies for your students before receiving your Graffitifun completion info.
