Do I need any prior graffiti experience to join the training?

Absolutely! No previous experience with spray cans is required. Our professional artists break down the technical aspects into simple, manageable steps that you can easily relay to your own students. We focus on building your confidence from the ground up, ensuring you feel comfortable handling the equipment and teaching the fundamental strokes and safety protocols. You'll go from a complete novice to a confident street art advocate in just one session!

How long does the professional development session last?

The training typically lasts between 2 and 3 hours. During this time, we cover everything from the historical context of street art to hands-on spraying techniques and classroom safety. It is a fast-paced, high-energy session designed to maximise your learning without taking up your entire weekend. We also offer extended masterclasses if your department wants to dive deeper into specific styles like stencil art or 3D lettering.

What materials are included in the teacher training package?

We provide everything you need to get messy! This includes high-quality spray paint, various nozzles (caps) for different effects, protective gloves, masks, and coveralls to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the 'canvas'—whether that's a practice wall or mobile boards. You just need to bring your enthusiasm and wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of paint dust on.

Is the spray paint safe to use in a school environment?

Safety is our top priority, especially in an educational context. We teach you the correct way to handle aerosol cans, the importance of ventilated spaces, and how to manage a group of students safely. We use low-pressure cans which are easier for beginners to control and provide high-quality FFP2 or FFP3 masks to ensure everyone breathes easy while they create their masterpieces.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the workshop?

Yes, indeed! Upon completion of the Graffitifun Teacher Training, you will receive a certificate of participation. This serves as proof of your professional development and your new competency in street art instruction. It’s a great addition to your teaching portfolio and demonstrates your commitment to contemporary art forms and innovative pedagogical methods to your school board or department head.

Can you help me align this with the national art curriculum?

Definitely. A core part of our training is discussing how to integrate graffiti into the standard art curriculum. we look at links to art history, colour theory, typography, and social justice. We provide you with a framework that makes graffiti an educational tool rather than just a fun activity, helping you meet curriculum goals while keeping your students 100% engaged.

Local culture

Ústí nad Labem, with its dramatic industrial backdrop and stunning river views, is the perfect canvas for urban expression. The city's unique mix of brutalist architecture and lush green hillsides provides an inspiring contrast that has long influenced local creatives. Street art here isn't just about paint; it's about the dialogue between the city's industrious past and its modern, cultural future. We love the energy of the local scene, from the legal walls to the hidden gems in the suburbs. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Ústí nad Labem is often called the "Salzburg of the North" because of its landscape, but we like to think the grit of our local street art gives it a much cooler edge! 🏰
