Do we need any prior art experience to join?

Nope! Our Tauranga workshops are designed for everyone from total beginners to seasoned scribblers. Our professional artists will guide you through the basics of can control, nozzle choice, and layering techniques. By the end of the session, you'll be amazed at what you've created. It’s all about having a crack and enjoying the process!

What should we wear to the graffiti workshop?

We use high-quality spray paints and provide all the necessary safety gear, including specialized masks and gloves. We also provide protective ponchos. However, since spray paint is permanent and can be messy, we strongly recommend wearing old clothes and sneakers that you don't mind getting a few 'creative' spots on!

How much does a university workshop cost?

Pricing varies based on your specific University group size, the duration of the workshop, and where in Tauranga we set up the canvases. Because we don't require upfront payments, you can book with confidence. To get an accurate figure for your student budget or event planning, just request a quick quote through our site.

How long does a typical session last?

Standard university sessions usually run between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives everyone enough time to learn the techniques, sketch their ideas, and complete their masterpiece. If you're planning a larger campus-wide event with a 'drop-in' style, we can adjust the timing and format to keep the energy high all day long.

Can you host the workshop directly on our campus?

Absolutely! We love coming to your turf. Whether it’s a car park, a courtyard, or an indoor hall with proper ventilation, we can set up our mobile canvases almost anywhere on campus. If you don’t have a spot, don’t sweat it—we can also arrange for a cool local spot in Tauranga for your group.

Is all the equipment included in the price?

Yes, we supply everything! High-grade spray cans in a rainbow of colours, various nozzles (caps) for different line thicknesses, gloves, masks, and the canvases themselves. We even have interactive tools like our online Tag Creator and Workshop Quiz to help you get inspired before the cans even start rattling.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next Tauranga uni gig? It’s not just about painting walls; it’s about building a vibe. Here’s why students love it:

Ultimate Stress Relief: Swipe away the exam blues with a spray can in hand—it’s incredibly therapeutic! 🎨
No Skills Required: You don't need to be an art major; our pros make sure everyone goes home with something they're proud of.
Epic Social Media Content: Your canvases and the process make for the best Insta stories and TikToks on campus. 📸
Genuine Connection: It’s a brilliant way for different student groups to bond over a shared, hands-on project.
Professional Guidance: Learn proper techniques from actual street artists who live and breathe the culture. 🎤
Zero Risk: With no upfront payment and guaranteed fun, it’s the easiest event you’ll ever organize.

Step by step

Intro and safety: We kick things off with a quick rundown of the gear. You'll get your masks, gloves, and a safety briefing to ensure everyone stays safe while getting creative. ✨
The basics: Our artists demonstrate 'Can Control'—learning how to hold the spray can, how distance affects your lines, and which nozzles to use for thin or fat strokes.
Design and sketch: Grab a marker or a can and start sketching your concept onto the canvas. Don't worry, our pros are right there to help you refine your 'piece'!
Filling in: This is where the colour comes to life. You'll learn how to fill in large areas efficiently and how to choose vibrant colour palettes that pop. 🔥
Outlining and details: Time for the 'cut-backs' and fine lines. We'll show you how to give your art that professional, sharp look with steady outlines.
The finishing touch: Add highlights, shadows, or a 'force field' (background glow) to make your work jump off the board. 🏆
The big reveal: We wrap up with a group photo of everyone's work. It's the perfect time to share your creations on social media and celebrate the crew's talent!
