How long does a typical youth graffiti workshop last?

Most youth projects in Aalborg run between 1.5 to 3 hours. We can adapt the timing to fit your specific schedule, whether it’s a quick high-energy splash or a deep-dive masterclass into street art techniques. If you have a larger group, we can rotate participants to ensure everyone gets hands-on time with the spray cans while others work on sketches or collaborative designs.

Is the spray paint safe for teenagers to use?

Absolutely. Safety is our biggest priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective overalls for every participant. Our professional artists are trained to supervise young people, ensuring they use the equipment correctly and follow safety protocols. We use low-pressure spray cans which are much easier for beginners to control, making the experience both safe and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Where in Aalborg do the workshops take place?

We are flexible! We can host the project at a local legal graffiti wall in Aalborg, such as the ones near the harbour or Karolinelund. Alternatively, if you have a suitable outdoor space at your youth club or school, we can bring mobile wooden canvases or cling-wrap walls to your location. We’ll help you choose the best spot during the planning phase.

Do the kids need any prior artistic experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our artists start with the basics—how to hold the can, controlling pressure, and making clean lines. We find that even those who claim they 'can't draw' end up creating incredible pieces once they learn the proper techniques. It’s all about building confidence and having a great time with the crew.

What materials are included in the youth project package?

We provide everything you need! This includes a huge range of spray paint colours, caps (nozzles), protective gear, and the surfaces to paint on. We also bring sketching materials so the group can plan their designs before hitting the wall. You just need to make sure everyone wears old clothes and shoes that they don't mind getting a little paint on—just in case!

What are the benefits of graffiti for youth development?

Graffiti is a fantastic tool for youth engagement. It teaches patience, planning, and collarboration. For many young people in Aalborg, it provides a positive outlet for self-expression and helps build a sense of community pride. It’s also a great way to transform a plain space into something vibrant and meaningful, giving the participants a real sense of achievement when they see the final result.

How do we book a workshop and what is the payment process?

Booking is easy and stress-free. You can use our online cost calculator for an instant estimate or send us a request for a custom quote. We don't require any payment upfront—you only pay after the workshop is completed and you're 100% satisfied. We also have backup artists ready to go, so your event will never be cancelled due to staff illness.

The experience

Our youth projects are designed to be the highlight of the year. Here is why youth leaders and organisers in Aalborg love working with us:

Boosts Confidence: Seeing a large-scale artwork come to life gives participants a massive sense of pride and achievement. 🏆
Professional Mentorship: Our artists aren't just painters; they are mentors who share their passion and career journeys.
Zero Stress: We bring everything. You provide the space and the kids; we handle the mess and the materials.
Safe & Legal: We teach the difference between vandalism and street art, focusing on legal, creative expression.
Inclusive Fun: Graffiti is a great leveller—it doesn't matter your background or academic skill; everyone can excel here. 🤝
Guaranteed Delivery: With our backup artist pool, we never cancel on you. Your project is in safe hands.

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: We start with a quick meet-and-greet where our artist explains the history of graffiti and goes over the essential safety rules for using spray cans.
Gear Up: Everyone gets fitted with protective overalls, gloves, and masks to keep the paint on the wall and off your clothes!
Master the Basics: We demonstrate "Can Control"—teaching the group how to create thin lines, fat drips, and smooth gradients.
Sketching the Vision: The group works together to brainstorm a theme and sketch out their ideas on paper before moving to the big canvas.
Outline & Fill: This is where the magic happens! Participants start outlining their designs on the wall and filling them with vibrant colours.
Finessing the Details: Our pros show the youth how to add highlights, shadows, and "second outlines" to make their artwork pop.
The Big Reveal: We step back, remove the protective tape, and admire the massive collective masterpiece created by the team.
Group Photos & Cleanup: We capture the moment with some epic photos of the crew in front of their work and tidy up the site.

Local culture

Aalborg has evolved from an industrial hub into a vibrant cultural powerhouse, and its street art scene is a huge part of that transformation. From the massive murals in the "Out in the Open" project to the DIY spirit found at Karolinelund, the city is a living gallery. Participation in a youth project here means connecting with Aalborg’s unique urban identity. We love taking inspiration from the city's maritime history and its modern architecture to help local youth create art that feels truly "Aalborgensian." ✨

Fun Fact: Aalborg is home to over 80 major street art murals, making it one of the most concentrated outdoor galleries in Scandinavia!
