Is the graffiti workshop safe for teenagers?

Absolutely! We prioritize safety above all else. Our graffiti artists provide high-quality respiratory masks, protective suits, and gloves to every participant. We also give a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can. The paints we use are professional-grade but handled under strict supervision, ensuring a secure environment where Horsens youngsters can focus entirely on being creative and having a blast.

How long does a typical workshop last?

Our standard youth project workshops in Horsens typically last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for the historical intro, sketching, technique practice, and the final creation of the mural. If you have a specific schedule or a full-day youth event planned, we can easily adjust the duration to fit your programme. Just let us know what works best for your group!

Do the kids need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Most of our participants have never held a spray can before. Our professional artists are experts at breaking down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-follow steps. We start with the basics of 'can control' and move up to more advanced styles, so everyone finishes the day feeling like a true street artist.

Where in Horsens do the workshops take place?

We are flexible! We can host the workshop at a location of your choice in Horsens—perhaps a youth club, school yard, or a public space where painting is permitted. If you don't have a spot, don't worry! We have access to several legal graffiti zones and mobile setups. We'll find the perfect creative backdrop to inspire your group's best work.

What should the participants wear?

While we provide full-body protective suits, we always recommend that participants wear 'work clothes' or items they don't mind getting a bit of paint on. Spray paint is permanent and has a sneaky way of finding its way onto shoes or sleeves! Closed-toe shoes are a must for safety. Once you're suited up, you'll be ready to transform into a professional street artist.

What is the teaching style of your artists?

We believe in the power of 'learning by doing'. Our workshops are highly interactive and energetic. After a brief intro to graffiti culture, we get straight to the action. Participants spend the majority of the time with cans in hand, experimenting with colours, shapes, and textures. It’s a hands-on experience where the youth of Horsens take the lead on their own creative projects.

How many people can participate in a session?

We can accommodate groups of almost any size. For youth projects, we typically recommend a minimum of 10 people to keep the energy high, but we can handle large groups of 50 or more by bringing in additional backup artists. This ensures everyone gets personal attention and guidance. Large-scale collaborative murals are a fantastic way for big groups to bond and achieve something massive together.

The experience

Boosts confidence: Seeing a massive piece of art you created from scratch is an incredible feeling! 💪
Team building: Collaborative murals teach kids how to work together and respect each other's styles.
Legal & safe: we teach the difference between vandalism and legal street art, promoting a positive urban culture.
Professional artists: Our mentors aren't just teachers; they are active street artists who live the culture.
Social impact: A great way to revitalise school yards or community spaces with local talent. 🏆
Zero stress: With our backup artist guarantee and "pay later" policy, your event is in safe hands.

Step by step

The warm-up: We start with a high-energy intro to street art culture and a quick safety demo.
Sketching the vision: Participants grab markers and paper to brainstorm their tags and group concepts.
Can control 101: Our pros teach the secrets of 'nozzles'—how to make thin lines, fat fills, and cool fades.
The legal wall setup: We prep the canvas or wall, ensuring everyone has their own dedicated creative space.
Outline and fill: Time to spray! The kids start bringing their sketches to life with vibrant colours.
Adding the 'pop': We teach advanced tricks like 'highlights' and '3D effects' to make the art stand out.
Final touches: A professional artist helps refine the details so the finished piece looks absolutely stunning.
The big reveal: We step back for a group photo and a 'critique' session where we celebrate everyone's hard work!

Local culture

Horsens is a city that breathes culture, from the legendary concerts at Fængslet to the vibrant street life along the pedestrian zones. We love the energy here! The city's industrial roots provide the perfect backdrop for urban art to flourish. Our workshops in Horsens tap into this local spirit, encouraging youngsters to see their city as a canvas for positive change. Whether we're inspired by the views of the Horsens Fjord or the edgy vibes of the old prison walls, there's no shortage of local inspiration.

Fun fact: Horsens is famous for hosting some of the world's biggest rock stars, but did you know it also has a growing hidden scene of mural art? We’re here to help the local youth add their own chapter to that story! 🎸✨
