Is the graffiti workshop safe for secondary school students?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for every student. Our professional artists lead the session with a comprehensive safety briefing, ensuring everyone uses the spray cans correctly. We almost always work outdoors or in well-ventilated spaces to ensure a healthy environment for your Horsens secondary school students.

How long does a typical school workshop last?

A standard workshop for secondary schools in Horsens typically lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a solid introduction, sketching, practice runs, and the creation of the final masterpiece. If you have a specific school schedule to stick to, we can easily adapt the timing to fit your lesson blocks or transition times.

Do we need to provide any materials?

We bring everything! Your school doesn't need to provide any art supplies. We supply the professional-grade spray paint, caps, protective gear, and the surfaces (like large wooden panels or canvases). Following the workshop, we handle the cleanup of our workspace, leaving your school grounds exactly as we found them—just with a lot more colour!

Do the students need prior artistic experience?

Not at all. Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Most students have never touched a spray can before they meet us. Our artists are expert teachers who break down the process into simple, manageable steps. Whether a student is a natural illustrator or hasn't picked up a pencil in years, they will leave with a piece of art they’re proud of.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

We are very flexible. While we love working outdoors in the fresh air of Horsens, we have strategies for rainy days. We can use well-ventilated indoor spaces with protective floor coverings, or we can reschedule using our reliable backup artist system. We always monitor the Danish weather closely to ensure the best possible experience for your group.

How many students can participate at once?

We can accommodate groups of almost any size. For secondary schools, we often work with single classes of 20-30 students, but we can also manage entire year groups by rotating sessions or bringing in multiple artists. Because we have a large team of professional graffiti artists, we can scale the experience to meet your school's specific needs.

What is the payment process for schools?

We want you to feel confident in booking with us. That’s why we offer a 'pay after the workshop' policy. You don't need to worry about upfront costs or deposits. Once the session is complete and your students are buzzing with excitement, we’ll handle the administration. It’s all part of our 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: We start with a high-energy intro about the history of street art and the 'rules of the game' in the graffiti world.
Concept sketching: Students grab paper and pencils to map out their tags or pieces, learning about letter structure and flow.
Safety first: Everyone gets geared up in protective suits, gloves, and masks while we explain how to handle the pressure of the spray cans. ✨
The first line: We head to the boards! Students learn basic techniques like 'lining', 'filling', and how to control the spray distance.
Developing the piece: Artists guide the students as they add layers, 3D effects, and those all-important highlights to make the art pop. 🎨
Individual expression: Every student gets the chance to experiment with different nozzles (caps) to see how they change the paint's texture and width.
Collaborative mural: Depending on the setup, students work together to merge their styles into one giant, cohesive school masterpiece.
The finishing touches: We add 'force lines' and outlines to clean up the work, ensuring every student's contribution looks professional.
Group gallery: We wrap up with a 'vernissage' where students present their work, take photos, and celebrate their new skills! 🏆

Local culture

Horsens has a fantastic relationship with the arts, evolving from its industrial roots into a cultural hub. We love the local vibe here! Did you know Horsens is home to Faengslet, the former state prison that now hosts massive art events and concerts? It’s exactly that kind of gritty, transformative energy that makes street art so relevant here. 🏢

Fun Fact: Horsens is part of the 'European Cultural Region' and has seen a massive surge in public murals over the last decade, proving that this city knows how to appreciate a good piece of street art! 🇩🇰

Whether your students are inspired by the grand murals found in Denmark's bigger cities like Copenhagen or Aarhus, we bring that same professional street-level prestige right to your school playground in Horsens.
