Is the spray paint safe for primary school children?

Safety is our absolute number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 respiratory masks, protective suits, and gloves for every student. Our spray paints are water-based or low-solvent where possible, and we always conduct workshops in well-ventilated outdoor areas. Our instructors are professional artists trained in managing large groups of children, ensuring everyone stays safe while having a blast.

What should the students wear on the day?

We recommend that students wear old clothes and shoes that parents don't mind getting a little 'artistic' on. Even though we provide full-body protective suits, spray paint has a way of finding its way onto sleeves or sneakers when kids are having this much fun! It’s all part of the authentic street art experience in Horsens.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Don't worry, we've got a plan! If the Danish weather doesn't cooperate, we can often move the workshop to a covered outdoor area or a well-ventilated indoor space like a gym hall using specific low-odour paints. Alternatively, we have backup dates available. We’ll coordinate closely with your school to ensure the workshop goes ahead smoothly, rain or shine.

How long does a typical school workshop last?

The workshop typically lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for primary schoolers—it’s long enough to learn the techniques and complete a masterpiece, but short enough to keep their energy and focus levels peaking. We can easily adjust the timing to fit into your school’s standard timetable or lesson blocks.

Do you offer workshops in other Danish cities?

Absolutely! While we focus on Horsens, our team of artists travels all across Denmark. We frequently host sessions in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense, and Aalborg. No matter where your school is located, we bring the entire mobile graffiti studio to you, including all the boards, paint, and safety gear needed for a successful creative day.

Do the children need to have any prior drawing skills?

Not at all. Our workshops are designed for complete beginners. Our professional artists break down the process into simple, easy-to-follow steps. We start with basic lines and shapes before moving on to 'filling' and 'outlining'. Every child, regardless of their natural drawing ability, will walk away with a piece of art they are truly proud of.

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: We start with a high-energy intro about the history of graffiti and street art culture.
Safety briefing: Students learn how to use the gear, including masks and suits, and how to handle spray cans responsibly.
Sketching ideas: Before touching the cans, we grab paper and pencils to brainstorm designs and 'tags'.
Technique demo: Our pro artists show off 'can control'—how to make thin lines, fat drips, and smooth fades.
First layers: Kids head to their canvases to apply the 'fill-in' colours and start seeing their designs come to life.
Outlining: This is where the magic happens! We add the sharp outlines that make the graffiti pop.
Highlights & details: Adding 'shining' effects and 3D shadows to give the artwork depth and character.
Group photo: We celebrate the hard work with a big group photo in front of the finished masterpieces.
Clean up: We leave the school grounds exactly as we found them, packed up and tidy!

Local culture

Horsens has a growing reputation as a hub for creativity in East Jutland. From the impressive murals near the old prison (Fængslet) to the street art popping up around the harbour, the city is a fantastic backdrop for inspiring the next generation of creatives. We love bringing our workshops to Horsens because the local students always bring a unique, energetic "Jutlandic" spirit to their designs!

Fun fact: Did you know Horsens is home to some of the largest outdoor murals in Denmark? Walking through the city centre is like visiting a free, open-air art gallery!
