Is the graffiti workshop safe for teenagers and children?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun, safety is our top priority. We provide all necessary protective gear, including high-quality masks, gloves, and overalls. Our professional artists are trained to supervise youth groups, ensuring that every participant uses the spray cans correctly in a well-ventilated outdoor setting. We make sure the environment is controlled, supportive, and completely safe for young creatives to explore their artistic side without any risks.

How long does a typical youth graffiti session last?

The workshop usually lasts between 1.5 and 3 hours. This timeframe is perfect for youth projects in Aveiro, as it allows enough time for a comprehensive introduction, some practice runs on plastic film or boards, and the final creation of a large-scale masterpiece. We can also adjust the duration to fit into a specific school schedule or youth centre programme if you have time constraints.

Do the participants need any prior drawing or painting skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels, especially beginners. Our artists start with the absolute basics—how to hold a can, how to control pressure, and how to create clean lines. We find that young people in Aveiro often have a natural flair for it once they get started. The goal is to build confidence and have fun, regardless of prior artistic experience.

Where in Aveiro do these youth workshops take place?

We are fully mobile and can host the workshop at various locations across Aveiro. We often work near youth centres, schools, or outdoor recreational areas. If you don't have a specific venue in mind, we can suggest suitable legal graffiti zones or arrange for a mobile setup using professional stretch film walls. We'll find the perfect spot that captures the creative spirit of the city.

What materials are included in the youth project package?

We provide everything needed for a successful street art experience. This includes a wide range of premium spray paint colours, caps (nozzles) for different effects, protective clothing, masks, and the "canvas" itself. You don't need to bring a single thing—just your energy and some old clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of paint on, just in case!

Do we need to pay in advance for the workshop?

Yes, we believe in the quality of our service so much that we don't require upfront payments. You can book your youth project today and pay after the workshop has been successfully completed. This gives youth project leaders and organisers in Aveiro total peace of mind and ensures that you are 100% happy with the creative results before any transaction takes place.

What are the benefits of graffiti for youth development?

The experience

Why choose a Graffitifun workshop for your next youth initiative in Aveiro? Here are a few reasons why we are the top choice for organisers:

Creative Empowerment: We give young people a voice and a chance to see their ideas come to life on a large scale.
Team Building: Designing a mural requires communication, compromise, and collaboration—essential life skills.
Professional Guidance: Our artists are not just talented painters; they are experienced mentors who know how to engage with youth.
Safe & Legal: We provide a controlled environment to explore an art form that is often misunderstood, teaching respect for public spaces.
Total Reliability: With our backup artist guarantee and no-upfront-payment policy, your event is in safe hands.
Memorable Outcomes: Every participant leaves with a sense of achievement and a unique story to tell.

Step by step

Introduction & culture: We start with a brief history of graffiti and street art culture to give the group some context.
Safety briefing: Every participant gets their gear and a clear explanation of how to use the equipment safely.
Technique demonstration: Our pro artists show you the "can-control" basics, from fat lines to thin outlines.
Sketching phase: The youth group works together to brainstorm a theme or design for their collective mural.
Practice session: Everyone gets a chance to practice their first sprays on a dedicated surface to get a feel for the pressure.
Creating the background: We start the main mural by filling in large areas of colour and creating gradients.
Adding details: This is where the magic happens—sharpening edges, adding highlights, and making the artwork pop.
Final signatures: Every artist signs their work, just like the pros do on the streets of Aveiro.
Group photo & cleanup: We wrap up with a celebratory photo and ensure the site is left spotless.

Local culture

Aveiro is a city that thrives on colour, from the brightly striped "palheiros" of Costa Nova to the intricate "azulejos" lining the city streets. This artistic heritage makes it the ideal backdrop for a contemporary graffiti workshop. While the city celebrates its traditional roots through its moliceiro boats, there is a growing appreciation for modern urban art in neighbourhoods like Beira Mar and near the University of Aveiro. Our workshops tap into this local creative energy, allowing youth groups to contribute their own modern "tiles" of spray paint to the city's cultural landscape. We often draw inspiration from the water, the salt pans, and the local wildlife, blending the iconic symbols of Aveiro with the raw, expressive power of modern street art.
