How long does a typical graffiti workshop last?

Our workshops in Viseu typically last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives the group plenty of time to learn the basic strokes, practice their 'tag', and collaborate on a large-scale mural. We find this timeframe is the sweet spot for maintaining high energy and focus while ensuring every participant leaves with a finished piece they can be proud of. We can adjust the timing to fit your specific youth project schedule if needed!

Is the graffiti workshop safe for young people?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective overalls for every participant. Our professional artists are trained to supervise groups and ensure the spray cans are used correctly and safely. We also choose our painting locations in Viseu carefully, ensuring there is plenty of ventilation. You can rest easy knowing the kids are in safe, expert hands while they explore their creativity.

Do we need to pay for the workshop in advance?

We believe in making the process as easy as possible for organisers in Viseu. You don't need to pay anything upfront to secure your booking. Once the workshop is completed and you are 100% satisfied with the experience, we will arrange the payment. This 'pay after' policy reflects our confidence in our artists and our commitment to providing a top-tier creative experience for your youth group.

What is the minimum group size for a youth project in Viseu?

We usually work with a minimum group size of 10 people to ensure a vibrant, collaborative atmosphere. However, we are very flexible and can cater to massive youth projects with over 100 participants by bringing in extra artists and equipment. If you have a smaller group, just reach out! We always try our best to find a bespoke solution that works for your specific needs and budget.

Do participants need any previous art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our artists are masters at breaking down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Whether a participant is naturally artistic or hasn't picked up a brush since primary school, they will be able to create something impressive. It’s all about building confidence, trying something new, and having a blast with friends in a supportive environment.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We provide everything! Your booking includes all premium spray paint in a rainbow of colours, protective gear (overalls, masks, gloves), and the 'canvas' (either large boards, plastic film, or a dedicated wall space). We even bring the inspiration and background music to get the creative vibes flowing. All you need to bring is your energy, some old clothes (just in case!), and a willingness to get a little bit messy!

Step by step

Initial briefing: We kick off at the Viseu site with a safety talk and an introduction to the history and culture of street art.
Sketching ideas: Participants grab paper and pens to brainstorm their designs, focusing on 'tags' and character concepts.
Can control basics: Our pros demonstrate how to hold the can, adjust pressure, and master different nozzle types for various line widths.
Practice session: Everyone gets their own space to practice basic shapes and lines to get a feel for the spray paint.
Outlining the mural: We move to the main surface where the group starts sketching the large-scale collaborative project.
Filling with colour: This is where the magic happens! Participants work together to fill in the designs with vibrant shades and gradients.
Adding details: We teach advanced techniques like 3D effects, highlights, and crisp 'cutting' to make the art pop.
The final outline: The artist helps the group add the final bold outlines to give the piece that professional street art finish.
Group photo: We celebrate the finished masterpiece with a group photoshoot—the perfect souvenir of a creative day!

Viseu is a city that breathes history, from its Roman walls to the majestic Cathedral. But look closer, and you'll see a modern, creative spirit emerging in the local street art scene. We love bringing our workshops to the "City of the Vine," blending Viseu's traditional charm with the raw energy of contemporary urban art. It’s the perfect backdrop for young people to find their voice and add their own modern chapter to the city's artistic legacy. ✨

Fun Fact: Viseu is often ranked as one of the cities with the highest quality of life in Portugal—and we think adding a splash of colourful street art only makes it better! 🎨
