Is the spray paint safe for primary school children?

Absolutely! We use high-quality spray paints that are low-odour and comply with safety standards. More importantly, we provide all children in Viseu with protective overalls and gloves. Our professional artists supervise every second of the session to ensure the paint stays on the wall – and not on their school uniforms! It's a controlled, creative, and completely safe environment for young learners.

What if the kids have never done anything artistic before?

Don't worry, we don't just hand them a can and walk away! We start with a safety briefing and basic technique practice. Our artists guide the students through every step, from drawing outlines to filling in colours. Because we focus on teamwork and individual expression, every child in the class will end the day feeling like a successful artist, regardless of their initial skill level.

Do we need a specific type of space at our school?

We are very flexible! While we love working on large outdoor walls for that authentic street art feel, we can also host workshops indoors using large canvases or mobile boards. If your school in Viseu has a gymnasium or a covered play area, we can set up there to ensure the fun continues regardless of the Portuguese weather!

How long does a typical school workshop last?

A standard workshop for primary schools usually lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. This is the 'sweet spot' for maintaining high energy and focus without the kids getting tired. We can also rotate multiple classes throughout a single school day, ensuring everyone gets a chance to pick up a spray can and contribute to the masterpiece.

What is included in the price of the workshop?

We provide everything needed for a world-class street art experience. This includes all premium spray paint, protective gear (gloves/suits), mask protection if needed, and the surfaces to paint on. We also bring our expert artists who facilitate the entire session. The school just needs to provide the eager students and a bit of space to get creative!

Do we need to pay anything upfront to book?

We understand that school budgets and schedules can be complex. That is why we offer a 'pay after the workshop' policy. You don't need to worry about upfront deposits or hidden fees. We want the booking process to be as stress-free as possible for Viseu teachers and administrators. You only pay once the kids are beaming with pride!

Can the children take their artwork home with them?

Yes! While many schools enjoy a collaborative mural on a large wall, we also offer options where students can paint individual canvases or wooden boards. These make for fantastic classroom decorations or items the children can take home to show their families. Just let us know your preference when you request your custom quote.

Step by step

Intro & safety: We kick off with an energetic introduction to street art history and a vital safety briefing for the kids.
Sketching ideas: Students grab paper and pencils to brainstorm their tags and designs, planning their colourful contributions.
Can control: Our artists demonstrate how to hold the spray can, how to control the pressure, and how to stay safe while painting.
First lines: Under close supervision, the children start applying their first lines to the wall or canvas, getting a feel for the medium.
Filling & fades: This is where the magic happens! We help the students blend colours and fill in their shapes with vibrant hues.
Outlining: We teach the trick of adding sharp outlines to make their graffiti 'pop' and look professionally finished.
The grand reveal: We take a step back as a group to admire the completed mural and discuss what each student contributed.
Cleanup: We ensure the area is left tidy, and the kids help de-robe from their protective gear, buzzing from their creative session.

Local culture

Viseu might be known as the 'City of the Green Pines', but we’re here to add a few more colours to that palette! While the city is famous for its stunning Sé Cathedral and rich history, there is a growing appreciation for modern muralism and street art throughout the region. By bringing a graffiti workshop to your Viseu primary school, you are connecting your students with a global contemporary art movement while celebrating the creative spirit of their own hometown. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know Viseu has been consistently voted as one of the cities with the best quality of life in Portugal? We think adding a splash of student-led street art only makes that quality of life even better! 🏆

Pricing

Our workshop prices are designed to be accessible for schools while ensuring the highest quality of materials and instruction. Prices typically range from €20 to €45 per person, depending on the number of students, the duration of the session, and the type of surface being painted (individual canvases vs. a large shared mural).
