How long does a graffiti workshop at a communion party typically last?

For a communion party in Viseu, we usually recommend a session of 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives the children enough time to learn the basics, practice their techniques, and complete their final masterpiece without losing focus. It fits perfectly between the traditional lunch and the cake cutting, providing a high-energy highlight that keeps the young guests entertained while the adults socialise nearby.

Is the graffiti workshop safe for children?

Safety is our top priority! We provide high-quality protective gear, including gloves and masks, to all participants. Our professional artists supervise every step of the process, ensuring the spray cans are used correctly. We use high-quality paint, and whenever possible, we conduct the workshops in well-ventilated outdoor spaces. Parents can relax knowing their kids are in a safe, controlled, and creative environment.

Can the adults join in the graffiti workshop as well?

Absolutely! While the focus is often on the communion child and their friends, we love it when parents, godparents, or even grandparents pick up a spray can. It is a fantastic way to bridge the generation gap and create a shared family memory. Whether you want to help your child with a tricky detail or create your own piece of art, everyone is welcome to join the fun.

Do the children need to have any drawing skills beforehand?

No professional experience is required at all! Our workshops are designed for complete beginners. Our Viseu-based artists will guide the group through every step, from basic lines to more advanced shading techniques. By the end of the session, even those who thought they weren't 'artistic' will be amazed by what they have managed to create on the canvas.

What happens if the venue doesn't have a dedicated art space?

We are very flexible. Most communion parties in Viseu take place at restaurants, quintas, or private gardens. We can bring our mobile workshop setup to almost any location that has a bit of outdoor space. If the weather is poor, we can often set up under a marquee or in a very well-ventilated indoor area, ensuring the party goes on regardless of the Portuguese weather!

Do the kids get to keep the art they create?

One of the best parts of our communion workshops is that every child gets to take their masterpiece home! We typically work on high-quality canvases or boards. This means the children have a permanent, tangible souvenir of the day, and the birthday child ends up with a unique collection of art created by their closest friends and family. It is much better than a standard party bag!

How do I handle the payment for the workshop?

We've made the booking process in Viseu as stress-free as possible. You don't need to pay anything upfront! Once we've discussed your group size and location, we'll confirm the date. Payment is only handled after the workshop is complete and you are 100% satisfied with the experience. It’s our 'fun guaranteed' promise to you, so you can focus on the rest of the celebration.

💰 No Risk: With our "pay later" policy, you can book with total peace of mind.

Step by step

The grand arrival: Our professional graffiti artist arrives at your Viseu venue early to set up the protective flooring and canvases.
Artist intro: We gather the group for a quick, high-energy introduction to the history of street art and how to handle the cans safely.
First lines: The children start with practice boards, learning how to control the pressure and create different line thicknesses. 🎨
Sketching the vision: Each participant plans their design, often incorporating the communion child's name or a special theme for the day.
Adding the colour: This is where the magic happens! We bring a huge variety of vibrant spray colours to make the artwork pop.
Mastering techniques: Our artist shows the kids how to do "fades," "highlights," and "outlines" to give their art a professional look.
The final reveal: We step back to admire the collective work. It’s the perfect moment for a group photo! 📸
Take-home art: Once the paint is dry, the children can take their canvases home as a unique souvenir of the celebration.

Local culture

Viseu, known as the "City of the Sacred Well," might be famous for its historic cathedral and Viriato's legend, but it also has a growing heartbeat of modern creativity. By choosing a graffiti workshop for your communion party, you are tapping into the contemporary spirit that live side-by-side with Viseu's ancient streets. We love bringing our cans to the beautiful gardens of central Portugal, where the granite architecture provides a stunning contrast to the neon greens and vibrant blues of our spray paint. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Viseu has been hosting its own street art festivals in recent years? The city is becoming a hidden gem for murals, meaning your kids are joining a local movement of urban expression right here in the Dão region!
