What kind of paint and safety gear do you provide?

For our youth projects in Bordeaux, we provide high-quality Italian water-based spray cans whenever possible, or low-pressure professional cans. These are much easier for young people to control and produce less fumes. We also provide protective overalls, gloves, and specialised FFP2 masks to ensure everyone stays clean and breathes easy while they create their masterpieces.

Can the workshop take place if it rains?

Absolutely! While we love working outdoors in the fresh Bordeaux air, we have several partner locations and mobile setups that allow us to host workshops under cover. We also use low-odour paints for indoor settings with proper ventilation. If the weather looks truly terrible, our backup artist system ensures we can reschedule or move the event without stress.

Do the participants need to be 'artistic' to join in?

No prior drawing or painting skill is needed at all. Our Bordeaux artists are experts at breaking down complex street art techniques into simple, manageable steps. We focus on building confidence, so even the most hesitant participants will end up with a piece of art they are genuinely proud of. It's about expression, not perfection!

Where in Bordeaux do these youth workshops happen?

We are incredibly flexible. We can bring the entire workshop to your youth centre, sports club, or community space in Bordeaux. Alternatively, we can arrange for the group to meet at a legal 'Hall of Fame' wall in the city to give them the authentic experience of painting in a public street art environment.

How do you ensure the safety of the participants?

Safety is our number one priority. All of our graffiti artists are highly experienced in working with young people and follow strict safety protocols. We perform a safety briefing before any cans are touched, ensuring correct mask usage and distance. Plus, our paint is non-toxic and compliant with European safety standards, making it perfect for youth groups.

Do we have to pay in advance for the project?

We understand that youth projects often work with specific budgets and administrative hurdles. Unlike many providers, we don't require upfront payment. You only pay after the workshop has been successfully completed. This gives organisers peace of mind and ensures you are 100% happy with the street art experience we provided.

How long does a typical youth graffiti session last?

Bordeaux youth projects typically last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a proper introduction, sketching, practice rounds, and the final mural creation. However, we can adapt the timing to fit your specific schedule, whether it's a short taster session or a full-day intensive street art programme.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your youth group in Bordeaux? It’s more than just painting; it's a powerful tool for social development. Here’s why it works:

Boosts Self-Esteem: Seeing a large-scale artwork come to life gives young people a massive sense of accomplishment.
Teamwork in Action: Creating a collaborative mural requires communication, compromise, and shared goals.
Safe Self-Expression: We provide a legal, structured environment for youth to explore urban art styles safely.
Professional Mentorship: Our artists aren't just painters; they are mentors who share their journey and skills.
Physical & Mental Health: It’s an active, outdoor-friendly hobby that gets kids off screens and into a creative flow.
Risk-Free Booking: With our 'pay after' policy, your organisation's budget is always protected.

Step by step

Intro and inspiration: We start with a brief history of graffiti culture and look at famous street art examples found around Bordeaux to get the creative sparks flying.
Safety first: Our pros demonstrate how to use the spray cans correctly, including how to fit masks and gloves for a safe, mess-free experience.
Sketching the vision: Participants grab paper and markers to map out their ideas, tags, and characters before moving to the 'big' wall.
Nozzle knowledge: Each youth gets to experiment with different 'caps' or nozzles to see how they create thin lines, fat drips, or soft fades.
Outline and fill: Under the guidance of our artists, the group begins to transfer their sketches to the surface, learning about arm movement and pressure.
The 3D effect: We teach the tricks of the trade, like adding shadows, highlights, and 'force fields' to make the letters jump off the wall.
Masterpiece reveal: The session wraps up with a group photo in front of the finished mural—a great moment for the kids to see what they achieved together.
Eco-friendly cleanup: We ensure all cans are recycled and the area is left spotless, teaching the importance of respecting the local environment.

Local culture

Bordeaux isn't just about world-class wine and historic architecture; it’s a city with a pulse that beats through its vibrant street art scene. From the legendary murals at Darwin Ecosystem in the Bastide district to the hidden gems tucked away in the narrow streets of Saint-Michel, Bordeaux offers a rich backdrop for any aspiring artist. Our workshops tap into this local 'Bordelais' creative spirit, encouraging participants to draw inspiration from the city’s unique blend of classic elegance and urban grit. By connecting youth projects with the local street art culture, we help them feel a deeper connection to their neighborhood, transforming them from spectators into active contributors to Bordeaux's evolving visual landscape.
